Doreen Brownstone was born on September 28, 1922 in Leeds, Yorkshire, England, UK. She was an actress, known for Silent Night (2012), The Murdoch Mysteries (2004) and Therapy (2018). She was married to William Brownstone. She died on December 16, 2022 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
In 1958, Doreen appeared opposite Gordon Pinsent in the very first production at North America's very first regional theatre ("A Hatful of Rain" directed by John Hirsch, at Manitoba Theatre Centre).
In July of 2017, Doreen was invested into the Order of Manitoba, the province's highest honour. She is now Doreen Brownstone, O.M.
In Winnipeg from 1946, and subsequently a mainstay of the Winnipeg theatre and television scene. Recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Winnipeg Arts Council.
