Boxing great Joe Frazier has died after losing a final fight against liver cancer.
The former heavyweight champion, who handed Muhammad Ali his first defeat in the ring, died on Monday night. He was 67.
Frazier, nicknamed Smokin' Joe, was diagnosed with cancer last month and he has been receiving treatment at a hospice in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania since Halloween.
He famously beat Ali in a 1971 boxing match considered by fight purists as the Fight of the Century.
Frazier fought Ali in two more epics, including the 'Thrilla in Manila' grudge match in 1975, but he lost both.
He started fighting in 1965 and ended his career in 1981 with a fight against Jumbo Cummings. His record was 32 wins, four losses and a draw. Frazier's wins included 27 knock outs.
As well as Ali, he fought George Foreman twice, Joe Bugner and Oscar Bonavena twice.

There's too much schmaltz and not enough smashes in this cyborg slugfest
Sentimental sci-fi really is a very worrying genre. And like a horrendous combination of Joe Bugner and Wall-e, the star of this film is a great big boxing robot, a tin man with a lot of heart. He's called Atom, and as Harry Carpenter might have put it: what a gutsy, unassuming automaton Atom is. He's been discovered in a junkyard by Charlie Kenton, played by Hugh Jackman, a washed-up robot trainer and ex-fighter who in this bland futureworld coaches souped-up 'bots to bash the jeepers out of each other. You can tell he's supposed to be washed up, incidentally, because in the first scene he drinks half-finished bottles of warm beer on tumbling out of bed – and after that, of course, never touches another drop.
A quirk of fate means he has to look after his adorable...

Liev Schreiber is eyeing a biopic of New Jersey heavyweight boxer Chuck “The Bayonne Bleeder” Wepner reports MTV News.
A Marine and security guard before turning boxer, Wepner famously lasted through 15 rounds in a fight with Muhammad Ali, being knocked out only seconds before the fight's end. That fight was said to be the inspiration behind Sylvester Stallone’s "Rocky".
Though he won far more than he lost, Wegner's losses to the likes of George Forman, Sonny Liston, Joe Bugner and even Andre the Giant are more remembered. Jeff Feuerzeig ("The Devil and Daniel Johnston") will direct.

Boxer Joe Bugner has praised Katie Price, describing her as "every horny man's dream". The veteran sports star, who exited the show on Sunday, claimed that he admired the way his camp mate had put "her life and soul" into becoming a celebrity. "I admire her for one reason only - and that's the way she's put her life and soul into being famous," he told Digital Spy. "She photographs like a dream and she's every horny man's dream. She's awesome. "At the same time, she's a very nice person. However, she doesn't want to be seen as a nice lady because you don't get nice ladies in the papers. (more)...

ITV bosses are said to be disappointed that Joe Bugner was put out of I’m A Celebrity this week and worry that his departure will lead to another drop in ratings for the show.
The jungle based series already lost viewers when Katie Price walked out last week and producers are worried that now controversial Joe has gone, more will tune out.
A show source told The Sun: “Joe leaving was the last thing bosses wanted.
“He has been the centre of attention and has helped to create quite a few arguments. Stuart’s a nice guy but is seriously dull.
“They can’t have the interesting people picked off. Ratings might tumble even further.”
Joe said: “I didn’t want to go. I wanted to stay till the end.

Colin interjected that was his “Rolls Royce picking up the chicks?” and Katie shocked the former boxer when she said, “In the club, ‘champong’ all round you. They’re all taking the piss out of you nicking your drink. You thinking, ‘Yeah I’m going to take you home tonight, open your legs and give you one, you dirty bitch.’ Then you’re f*cking off.”
A stunned Joe replied: “That kind of language has never come out of my mouth dear. I never had to go that far.”
Justin then asked Joe: “What’s the most amount of girls you’ve ever had ever in your life, ever at one time?”
Joe answered:...

Sabrina Washingon has leapt to Stuart Manning's defence after Joe Bugner dismissed his career ambitions. Manning had previously said that he wanted to pursue work in Hollywood. However, Bugner expressed doubts that he would make it. "He's going to America?" the boxer asked. "I hope he's got a lot of money. What I'm saying is if you're going to try and land a position in America today then you live this lifestyle or you don't make it at all. It's totally overloaded with stars of all shapes and sizes." Washington then hit back at Bugner, accusing him of being overly negative before speaking out in defence of the actor. "That's a bit cloak and dagger," she stated. "That's (more)...

Last night’s dinner in the I’m A Celebrity Base Camp became a row between Justin Ryan and Joe Bugner. Justin had sated to cook dinner of a rooster, aubergine, courgettes and tomatoes when Sabrina and Stuart offered to help. Unfortunately they burnt the meal leaving Joe furious.
Joe refused to eat his meal and said “The whole thing is if you’re going to cook a delicacy properly it will taste delicious. Unfortunately it was the opposite.”
Jimmy, Joe and Justin continued their conversation as the washed up when Joe continued to complain about the meal. “Let them wash up. That’s helping us” said Joe. “But taking something out of your hands that you’re very good at is ludicrous.”
Justin replied “Please don’t say anything. We ad such a good balance and we don’t want anyone thrown off balance”
Joe said “This will not...

Friday night, and the relentless blogging of I’m A Celebrity continues apace. Your comments, as always, are appreciated.
Thankfully, after a false start over the last few days, Celebrity actually started to get interesting last night with some bitchy moments between Kim and Justin and some full-on craziness from Joe Bugner, who is fast becoming the ‘legend’ of the 2009 series. George Hamilton is still excused from being interesting on medical grounds.
And so we join the camp(s). The luxury camp are waking up blissfully rested, while the exiles are looking groggy and rough. SamFox has got a tic, and it’s not a nervous one. Stuart Manning has a little rummage in his nether regions for bugs. It’s important to check that regularly anyway, readers.

Boxing champ Joe Bugner isn’t making many friends in the I’m A Celebrity jungle. He spent his first few days scaring the campers with his talk of poisonous spiders and deadly snakes and now he has claimed that AIDS was created by the CIA.
Gay TV presenter Justin Ryan was visibly upset and said in the Bush Telegraph:
“Joe’s made me feel really uncomfortable with his comments about Aids and the CIA.
“But I’m going to bite my tongue on this occasion and pretend it never happened.”
A show insider told The Sun: “Joe’s caused a lot of conflict since he arrived.
“He’s a real wind-up merchant who’s got some odd theories about life. He loves getting a reaction from people.
“Most of it is pretty harmless. But he went too far with this one.
“Justin and Colin just stared at each other.

Katie Price has been granted immunity from the first elimination on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!. The glamour girl, who has become viewers' regular target for bushtucker trials since joining the jungle, shares the privilege with Colin McAllister, Justin Ryan, Sabrina Washington, Jimmy White and Joe Bugner on the ITV1 show. Woot! Another day, another I’m A Celebrity liveblog.
Before we begin, I’m going to let you in on a little secret: I’ve never really watched I’m A Celebrity before. So, this is my first time paying attention to the series. Having liveblogged the show for five days now, my initial impressions are:
There’s a lot of filler. I understand that without the tasks, etc, it would be pretty dull, but they show previews before every commercial break of stuff coming up. You could watch this show on fast-forward and it would last five minutes. Er…don’t the insect and gunk-related tasks get a little bit old after a while? I know it’s the wrong country for it, but it’s be class to have a bear attack the camp. Like, a real threat. Jordan swimming with pirhannas? Yes please. Ant & Dec could be called Hit & Miss.

Before he went into the I’m A Celebrity jungle Joe Bugner was very clear about how he would handle former glamour model, Katie Price.
The Sun quote Joe as saying: “If Katie steps out of line verbally and she gives me a tongue lashing, I’ll react.
“With people like her, it turns into verbal diarrhoea after a while. She’s not going to walk on me.
“And I really won’t let her get off the hook if she’s wrong. I will be a whingeing old b******. I’m not a physical person but I am very verbal.”
He says that he’s not a physical person, but did you see him trying to wipe the insects off Katies massive knockers last night? It looked like he wanted to do a whole something else with his tongue let me tell you!

Boxer Joe Bugner has admitted that he has "butterflies" over entering I'm A Celebrity.... The former sports star claimed that he is worried about "creepy crawlies" and said that he will not "jump out of an aeroplane" for a challenge. "I do have butterflies," stated Bugner. "Not like when I fought Muhammed Ali or Joe Frazier, but I'm nervous with anticipation. I'll do whatever's thrown at me but I won't jump out of an aeroplane. Retired boxer Joe Bugner has faced Muhammed Ali and Joe Frazier in the ring but will he be able to face his worse fears in the Australian outback as he joins the cast of I’m A Celebrity . . . Get Me Out Of Here!?
“I do have butterflies, admitted Joe. “Not like when I fought Muhammed Ali or Joe Frazier but I’m nervous with anticipation. I’ve never slept under a jungle canopy and I’m worried about all the creepy crawlies and things so I’m not going in as a happy man.
“I’ll do whatever’s thrown at me but I won’t jump out of an aeroplane. I’ll do anything else but I won’t do that. Fighting Muhammed Ali is one thing but when you’re feet are not grounded I feel very insecure. I don’t like someone else to be in control.

Welcome back for another evening of bitching about Katie Price. Sorry, I mean live coverage of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, the longest titled show on TV at the moment.
First off, Camilla Dallerup has walked out of camp. Hopefully ITV get a return of a portion of her fee, since she completely failed to entertain us. Just getting that off my chest.
Kim’s snoring
George complains about Kim’s hog-like snoring. Actually, he calls her a water buffalo. Even Gino can hear the snorting sound from outside the caravan Kim and George are sharing.
Jut noticed – George looks a little bit like Archie Mitchell on Botox. Doesn’t he?
But the salacious Hamilton revelations continue – he tells us, sensationally, that Elizabet Taylor doesn’t snore. Fantastic. I’m sure that just radically altered the public perception of the serial divorcee. Wonderful George – have a...

Camilla Dallerup, the former "Strictly Come Dancing" dancer, has left the Australian jungle after just a few days. Camilla has been said to be struggling with the lack of food and sleep, so much so that she said she was too exhausted to even find the energy to shower.
The 35-year-old dancer left the jungle overnight after just spending a couple of days in the Australian outback. She said; "I've got the highest metabolism of anyone I know. I feel useless being here so tired. You can't help anyone. It's not eating. Heat, I can deal with,"
A spokesman for ITV has said that the former boxer Joe Bugner would be replacing the dancer in the jungle. The show's series producer, Martin Benson, told "GMTV" on Wednesday of his worries about the dancer; "I'm very scared about Camilla, she had a meltdown the other night and she's not been eating...

Camilla Dallerup has walked out of I'm A Celebrity... after suffering from illness. The Strictly Come Dancing star will be replaced in the jungle by former boxing champion Joe Bugner. Dallerup broke down in tears during her third day on the show, telling the other celebrities that she could not sleep or think properly. Movie star Russell Crowe has been tagged "a gutless worm" by Australian boxer Joe Bugner, after he insulted the former heavyweight fighter. Crowe asked Bugner to help him train for his role as boxer James J. Braddock in new movie Cinderella Man, but then changed his mind and hired Muhammad Ali's former trainer Angelo Dundee instead. When Crowe then injured himself in training, Bugner criticized Dundee, and the actor responded with a foul-mouthed telephone call, in which he insulted Bugner "in such a manner that I will never, ever forgive him". The 54-year-old former World Boxing Foundation champion tells the Sydney Daily Telegraph, "He started at me, calling me an idiot and saying that I didn't know anything about boxing. I said to him, 'Let me tell you something. I've been in boxing for 33 years. I know more about boxing than you'll ever know about acting. I'm not a phony, whereas all you do is read scripts.' I said, 'Russell, go and shove your head up your a**.' And I hung up. The guy's 40 going on 12. I was never going to put up with his silly tantrums. And he behaves like a f****ing girl. If I saw him, I wouldn't give him the time of day. If he approached me, I would stand and wait. I would be right there in front of the bloke. And I would have to resort to my old career."...

Hot-tempered hunk Russell Crowe has enlisted the help of former World Champion Heavyweight contender Joe Bugner to train as a boxer for a new film. The Gladiator star, who has a pugilistic reputation after being involved in fights in real life, is learning to box in the ring to play 1930s champion James J Braddock in the forthcoming Ron Howard movie Cinderella Man - so he's employed Bugner, 53, to put him through his paces. However, Bugner has warned the 39-year-old actor he needs to be on top form if he is going to survive in the ring - irrespective of his hard-man reputation. He says, "I told Russell that pro boxing is a very dangerous business and even in the sparring sessions we'll be doing, when we're all padded up, he'll have to concentrate hard on what's going on or he can get hurt. After six weeks in the ring with me, he will come out of this knowing a lot more about how to handle himself in a fight."...
