Seth Meyers is the latest late-night personality to crack a few jokes at Matt Lauer's expense.
On Thursday's Late Night, the 43-year-old host addressed the sexual harassment allegations against Lauer that led to his termination from the Today show. "We learned why Kathie Lee [Gifford] and Hoda [Kotb] drink," Meyers quipped, calling out the co-hosts of the final hour of Today, who often showcase wine and spirits during their segment.
Meyers also acknowledged reports that Lauer had a button under his desk at work that would allow him to remotely lock his office door. Showing a photoshopped image of Lauer sitting on a couch in a garage, he mused, "This is cool, his new office does too."

Not letting it go, Meyers also had a message for "anyone who works in the button-installing business."
"Nobody wants a button under their desk for a non-evil reason," he joked. "No one has ever...

Matt Lauer reportedly signed a two-year, $20 million contract in 2016 — but what will become of that salary now that he’s been fired for alleged inappropriate sexual behavior?
Page Six reports that Lauer is seeking $30 million — the remainder of that deal — from NBC. The network had no comment. Lauer was photographed meeting with attorney Eddie Burke Jr., who did not return People’s calls, in the Hamptons on Thursday.
If Lauer, 59, does make a case for compensation, “the issue becomes, can they fire him for cause?” a source with knowledge of the situation tells People.

Matt Lauer is keeping a low profile after being fired from the Today show over sexual misconduct allegations.
Days after his termination, the 59-year-old newsman quietly deactivated his Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts. The decision to remove himself completely from social media comes after multiple women came forward accusing Lauer of "inappropriate sexual behavior."
On Thursday, the former Today co-host -- who had worked on the NBC morning show for over 20 years -- broke his silence in a statement that was read aloud on the program by his former colleague, Savannah Guthrie.
“There are no words to express my sorrow and regret for the pain I have caused others by words and actions. To the people I have hurt I am truly sorry,” reads his statement. “As I am writing this I realize the depth of the damage and disappointment I have left behind at home and at NBC. Some of what is being said about me is untrue...

Just one day after it was announced that he was fired from the Today show, Matt Lauer was out and about in East Hampton, New York, where his family resides.
Dressed in a navy blue sweater, jeans, brown boots and dark sunglasses, the 59-year-old newsman was seen getting out of his Jeep to meet with a man in a gray suit.
After hugging the gentleman, Lauer handed him a piece of paper before getting back into his vehicle and driving off. An eyewitness tells Et that the TV personality appeared “sad and sheepish” and “did not look happy” during the exchange.
The man in the suit is apparently criminal defense attorney Eddie Burke, Jr. According to his law firm's website, Burke and his associates have "been involved in high profile cases as well as several high verdict negligence cases that have been the topic of articles and discussions in national media."

New York (AP) - NBC has scrapped a Bill Cosby comedy that was under development and TV Land will stop airing reruns of "The Cosby Show," moves that came a day after another woman came forward claiming that the once-beloved comic had sexually assaulted her. NBC spokeswoman Rebecca Marks said Wednesday the Cosby sitcom "is no longer under development." A TV Land spokesperson said the shows will stop airing immediately. "The Cosby Show" also was to have been part of a Thanksgiving marathon of sitcoms, and the show will be off the network indefinitely.
Both the NBC sitcom and Netflix Cosby standup comedy special, which has been indefinitely postponed, were halted within a day after actress Janice Dickinson, in an interview with "Entertainment Tonight," became the third woman in recent weeks to allege she'd been assaulted by Cosby - charges strongly denied by the comedian's lawyer.
