Today marks the 75th anniversary of the Waldorf Declaration, which on November 25, 1947, officially launched the Hollywood Blacklist. On that day, the heads of the major studios, with a few notable exceptions, agreed after a contentious two-day conference at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City to ban the Hollywood Ten and to not “knowingly” employ Communists.
And so began one of the darkest chapters in Hollywood’s history.

She’s always up to something crazy, and Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi took her son Lorenzo to a DNA testing clinic in northern New Jersey on Wednesday (August 7).
The “Jersey Shore” starlet seemed to be in good spirits as she carried her little guy inside, though she offered no explanation for why they were there.
Meanwhile, it turns out that the residents of Berkeley Township are taking legal action to block Snooki and her gal pal Jenni “JWoww” Farley from filming in their town.
Council president James Byrnes told press, “We don’t even have time for this nonsense. We don’t need another distraction right now.”
Polizzi fired back, “Don’t worry James Byrnes,we won’t be a ‘distraction’ towards you & the community. I have a family just like everyone else that enjoys the shore.”...

Washington, July 19: Snooki and JWoww will be coming back to Jersey Shore to film the third season of their MTV reality show 'Snooki and JWoww.'
The reality star duo will film the 'Jersey Shore' spin-off at a home in the Pelican Island section of Berkeley, New Jersey, and a residence in Seaside Heights, New Jersey.
However, city authorities are not at all pleased about filming in these locations, as rebuilding of the towns following the destruction caused by Hurricane Sandy last October, Contactmusic reported.
Berkeley Township Council president James Byrnes said in a statement that they don't have time for such nonsense.

It’s been said that Westerns are to America what Shakespeare is to England. The Western genre has been an important and iconic part of our heritage, whether in film, TV or in print. And one of the most popular and prolific Western authors was Louis L’Amour.
L’Amour had a long career writing Western fiction, which he liked to call “Frontier Stories”. L’Amour wrote 89 books from 1930 to the late 1980s. Many of his stories were made into movies and all his books are still in print. He was a favorite author of Western film superstar John Wayne. “The Louis L’Amour Western Collection” brings three film adaptations of L’Amour novels to DVD for the first time.
The first of these L’Amour adaptations is The Sackets, a two-part made-for-tv retelling of two of L’Amour’s novels (The Daybreakers and Sackett) from “The Sacketts” series. The...

Supposedly this will be narrated by Adrian Paul (you should all know who he is) who also plays the main character, War of the Worlds: Goliath is an animated to sequel to H.G. Well's famous nevel set in a steampunk world. It's a coming of age story which follows a group of people graduating from military school as the martians start invading, for the second time. It's produced by Tripod Entertainment (which I assume is the same prod company behind Reign of Fire) is directed by Joe Pearson, written by David Abramowitz and also involves Peter Wingfield, James Arnold Taylor, Elizabeth Gracen, Jim Byrnes and Adam Baldwin. The flick is currently in production with a dvd release scheduled for 2010. And we have a big concept art gallery to go along with the news!
