Turner Classic Movies, the leading authority and definitive home of classic film, will celebrate its 30th anniversary on April 14, 2024. To honor the milestone, TCM will present on-air programming salutes featuring TCM staff who were there from the very beginning, as well as a 24-hour marathon of films with historical introductions from TCM’s first host and champion, Robert Osborne.

Turner Classic Movies will turn 30 on April 14, 2024. That’s right: It’ll be 30 years since Ted Turner flipped the switch — flanked by Old Hollywood legends Arthur Hiller, Arlene Dahl, Jane Powell, Celeste Holm, and Van Johnson — right in the middle of Times Square to turn the network “on.”
Also with Turner that day was the man who’d become TCM’s longtime host, Robert Osborne, then just 61. A veteran columnist for The Hollywood Reporter, Osborne had become known as a close friend to many of the surviving stars of yesteryear ever since he was photographed kissing Bette Davis’s hand during a Golden Globes broadcast in the late ’70s. He’d go on to host the intros and outros for most of TCM’s primetime lineup for close to 23 years after that launch date, until he died in March 2017 at 84.
For so many TCM fans, Robert Osborne was the network.

It appears to be official, And Just Like That… fans will get what they want. Che Diaz reportedly will not appear in season 3 of the divisive reboot of Sex and the City. Sara Ramirez has been hinting at their firing for days
While an official announcement has not been made, word from insiders that Che has been axed from the series aligns with Sara Remirez’s vague Instagram posts. In a series of social media posts, Ramirez suggested they were feeling used and disposed of, partially because of their pro-Palestine stance.
In their most recent post, Ramirez claimed casting agents and directors were blacklisting actors who posted pro-Palestine content. While they never came right out and suggested they were...

Max officially renewed And Just Like That… ahead of its much-anticipated season two finale which will feature the return of Kim Cattrall as Samantha. Season two episode 11 – part two of “The Last Supper” – finally delivers the cameo fans of the original foursome have eagerly anticipated.
Even though Samatha won’t be sharing scenes with her former Sex and the City co-stars, Cattrall will be seen in a cameo, styled by Patricia Field and shot in secret. In an interview on Today with Hoda and Jenna, Kim Cattrall confirmed that shopping in Bergdorf’s and picking out a great outfit for her cameo felt like dipping her toe back in time and having a wonderful afternoon.
However, fans shouldn’t expect Kim Cattrall back for the just-announced third season. It seems this short cameo is a one-off and not a precursor to an extended return as Samantha.

Carrie Bradshaw will have at least one more season of romantic entanglements and pithy, episode-closing narration.
Max has picked up a third season of And Just Like That, the Sex and the City sequel following Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) as they navigate family, love and friendship 15-plus years after the original series concluded. The renewal comes just ahead of the show’s second-season finale, which is set for Aug. 24 and will feature a buzzed-about cameo from the fourth member of the core Satc cast, Kim Cattrall.
“As we approach the highly anticipated season finale on Thursday, we raise our cosmos to [showrunner] Michael Patrick King and his magnificent team of writers, producers, cast and crew who continue to charm us, 25 years later, with dynamic friendships and engaging stories,” said Sarah Aubrey, Max’s head of original content, in a statement. “We cannot wait for...

“And Just Like That” is back on Max for a second season, and it’s bringing some famous — and familiar — faces.
Kim Cattrall confirmed that she will reprise her role of Samantha Jones in an on-camera cameo. Her character communicated with Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) via text message throughout the first season, including Mr. Big’s funeral and the Paris finale.
A slim and trim John Corbett will return as Carrie’s former fiance Aidan Shaw as she moves on from the death of her husband.
“Sex and the City” fans will also be thrilled that Candice Bergen will reprise her role as Carrie’s former editor Enid Frick. Julie Halston will also be back as socialite Bitsy Von Muffling, who is as delightful as her name.
Of course, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon are back as Charlotte York Goldenblatt and Miranda Hobbes, Carrie’s longtime BFFs.

Spoiler alert! If you haven’t seen season 2, episode 10 of the “Sex and the City” reboot, “And Just Like That…”, proceed with caution.
Though actor Willie Garson died in real life in September 2021 after a private battle with pancreatic cancer, his beloved “Sex and the City” character, Stanford Blatch, is alive and well on “And Just Like That…”.
Garson filmed several episodes of the Max reboot’s first season before his unexpected death, and at the time, the show explained his exit with the character leaving to follow one of his influencer clients to Japan and asking his husband, Anthony Marentino (Mario Cantone), for a divorce.
Since then, there have been several references to Stanford — in the season 2 premiere episode, Carrie wears a kimono that she says he sent her — but on Thursday’s episode, Stanny’s storyline seemed to have a clear end note.

ABC’s The View still hasn’t had a man as one of the permanent hosts, but talk show personality Ross Mathews claimed that he got very close.
Mathews, who made a name as an intern and a correspondent for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, went on to make regular appearances as a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race, and as a panelist on Chelsea Lately.
He’s starred on Celebrity Big Brother and had his own short-lived talk show Hello Ross! And Mathews is currently a regular on The Drew Barrymore Show.
Other men like Mario Cantone made regular appearances in the host chair. But Mathews claims he was seriously considered for the cast permanently and even made a deal until network executives had other plans.
Ross Mathews was a huge Barbara Walters fan before ‘The View’
“The View was really fascinating,” Mathews said on the Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef podcast.

Spoiler alert! If you haven’t seen season 2, episode 4 of “And Just Like That”, proceed with caution.
Is “And Just Like That” finally hitting its stride? The “Sex and the City” reboot is four episodes into its sophomore season, and Thursday’s episode proved to be its best yet.
With Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) back in New York City, the original gang, including Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Charlotte York Goldenblatt (Kristin Davis), and honorary member Anthony Marantino (Mario Cantone), is able to meet up for lunch for some gossip and dirty talk, just like the old days.
There are quips about Miranda’s new fluid lifestyle with Anthony calling her “Rachel Maddow.” There are not-so-subtle euphemisms on Charlotte’s part — mayo, confetti, and a finale of fireworks (Happy July 4th!), no less — and at the heart of it, there’s the friendships fans of the original “Sex and the City...

Spoiler alert! If you haven’t watched the third episode of season 2 of “And Just Like That”, proceed with caution.
After a rather subdued start to season 3 last week, the “Sex and the City” spinoff series, “And Just Like That”, packed more of an emotional punch this week. As Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) is asked to narrate the audiobook version of her book about the death of her husband, Mr. Big (Chris Noth), the fashionista is forced to relive his traumatic final moments.
Though she’d been proud of seemingly getting out on the other side of her grief, Carrie discovers that she’s far from being over the painful loss.
She runs into returning character Bitsy von Muffling (Julie Halston), who also made a cameo in the spinoff’s first season. Bitsy tells her that the second year after a loss is actually the most painful as life continues without that person.

After working with Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis for over two decades, “And Just Like That” showrunner, Michael Patrick King, expands on how he conducts conversations about intimate scenes with the actresses, now that they’re in their 50s.
Both stars, who reprise their roles as Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York respectively in the “Sex and the City” reboot, are still willing to show a breast — something that’s rarely seen at their age in the industry — to which King breaks down how negotiations are made regarding their comfortability onscreen.

Sept. 21, 2021, was a sad day for "Sex and the City" fans when we learned of Willie Garson's (who played talent agent Stanford Blatch) death. Garson died of a short illness after suffering from a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 57 years old.

The good news is Stanford does appear in the first three episodes of the reboot's first season, but those are the only times he physically shows up. However, his character still lives on in the revival through subtle mentions.

Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) is moving on.
Max unveiled the official trailer for And Just Like That Season 2 on Friday, and we finally have some insight into some of the big returns.
In the exciting fresh footage from the Sex and the City revival's second season, Carrie reaches out to her ex-fiance Aidan (John Corbett).
In true Carrie fashion, she sends an email, and before we know it, they're back in each other's company.
Whether they'll make a lasting impression enough to get back together, we don't know, but there were many Aidan and Carrie fans when the show was initially on the air.
Carrie is still trying to bounce back following the death of Big (played by Chris Noth).
Aidan points out how much time has passed in the snap of a finger, but will these two have a future?

Change is in the air for Season 2 of “And Just Like That.” Max has released the first official trailer for the second installment of its “Sex and the City” spinoff series, which is set to premiere June 22 on the streaming service.
“You don’t move on because you’re ready to. You move on because you’ve outgrown who you used to be,” Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) says in the first moments of the trailer.
Mostly composed of quick jokes from this upcoming season, the video doesn’t offer many details about what fans can expect. But it’s still possible to piece together some upcoming plot points. Carrie, a year removed from the death of Big (Chris North), has officially returned to her iconic Manhattan apartment. Even more surprisingly, she actually uses her stove to boil an egg, a place that only used to serve as extra storage.

Carrie Bradshaw is moving on in the return of And Just Like That.
The official trailer for season two of the hit HBO sequel series to Sex and the City picks up more than one year after Big’s (Chris Noth) sudden death and sees Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) focused on moving on. Not only has she realized how to use her kitchen (“Did you know stoves aren’t just for storage?” she asks), but she’s also dating and reaching out to the former flame that viewers have been waiting for.
Toward the end of the nearly two-minute first look (below), Carrie sends Aidan Shaw (John Corbett) an email. A closer look reveals the note reads: “Hey Stranger … Remember me? Carrie Bradshaw is moving on, and moving up.
The latest trailer for “Sex and the City” revival series “And Just Like That” teases the return of Aidan (John Corbett) as Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) deepens her dating pool following the death of her husband Mr. Big (Chris Noth). Best friends Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) juggle parenthood with sex and marriage with middle age, all in the Big Apple.
The new sneak peek at the season comes on the stiletto heels of the major announcement that Kim Cattrall will be reprising her iconic role of Samantha in a sole scene for the second season. Famed costume designer Patricia Field is also back to dress the PR maven, who has since relocated to London and was communicating with Carrie only via text message.
Showrunner Michael Patrick King previously said in February 2022 that Cattrall was never considered to appear in “Ajlt.

“And Just Like That” some more familiar faces are joining the cast of the “Sex and the City” reboot for season 2.
Per Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Michael Patrick King has confirmed that Candice Bergen, who played Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker)’s Vogue editor, Enid Frick, in “Satc” and the first of the first of the franchise’s films, is officially reprising her role.
“Candice Bergen is back as Enid, which we’re thrilled about because I always loved Enid,” King told the magazine. “She is a cold, wonderful diva of publishing.”
Last viewers saw Enid was in the “Sex and the City” movie in 2008. Fans of the film recall Enid asking Carrie to model in Vogue as the magazine’s “The Last Single Girl” for their bridal issue, ahead of her wedding to the now deceased “Mr. Big” (Chris Noth).
