Terri Carol was a British music hall 'paper tearer', a career she'd had
since learning the craft from her father. From paper she created ships,
palm trees, lace doilies, steering wheels, and, the culmination of the
act: her astounding "tower of progress", a 30 ft-tall paper ladder.
After a nearly 70-year career, she officially retired in 1994, due to
her advanced arthritis.
