Actress Debbie Lee Carrington, a little person who appeared in the original Total Recall as part of the Martian rebels and in Star Wars as an ewok, among other TV and film appearances, has died. She was 58 and died in her sleep from undetermined causes, according to her sister, Cathy Ellis.
Carrington was born on December 14, 1959 in San Jose, California. Standing just 3 feet, 10 inches tall upon maturity, Carrington was a cheerleader in high school and played Sancho Panza in a production of Man of La Mancha her junior year, igniting her passion for acting.
While attending the University of California-Davis, she saw an ad in the Little People of America magazine about the search for extras for Chevy Chase’s Under the Rainbow, a film which was loosely based on the little people who auditioned for roles as Munchkins in The Wizard of Oz.

Debbie Lee Carrington, famed actress and stuntwoman for many a genre film, has passed away at the age of 58. If you don’t remember her then it’s likely that you haven’t watched a lot of 80’s and 90’s movies since one of her most notable roles was as the prostitute Thumbelina in Total Recall. Fans of the original movie will no doubt remember her as the tough as nails little woman that got right into the thick of things when the fighting started. But aside from that she had a lot of other roles in film that you’d have to

Indican Pictures is set to release the pivotal documentary on the Garbage Pail Kids. Titled 30 Years of Garbage: The Garbage Pail Kids Story, this documentary revisits the artists, who made these collectibles famous. Showing a rare glimpse into the corporate culture of Topps as they launched Garbage Pail Kids through the height of the cards fame, the downfall from the legal battle with the Cabbage Patch kids and their untimely demise. "The Hobbit" hits theaters this Friday and besides all the hobbits, orcs, elves, humans, dragons and Gollums, there's also a group of sturdy folk who form the backbone of the movie: Dwarves.
This isn't the first time dwarves have been portrayed in film, of course — and it's not the first time that little people have been played on screen by regular-sized folks, either. But "The Hobbit," with its band of stout and heroic dwarven heroes, is undoubtedly one of the most prominent portrayals of little people in Hollywood's long and checkered history.
So that got us thinking: Where is "The Hobbit" going to end up ranking on the scale of most positive to most demeaning portrayals of little people in film? To help you decide that for yourself, here's a quick continuum of nine prominent movies featuring little people, ranked from most positive to most demeaning.

The problem with the "exploitation" label is that it's used so liberally that the viewer rarely knows what to expect from a film boasting that it's oh so grindhouse. Will the film feature naughty nuns fucking each other with crucifixes, or Nazi prison wardens torturing naked chicks? Bikers, cannibals, or biker-cannibals? When you're a female (or, to qualify, a female who cares about the portrayals of women in film) even more questions arise- most notably, will the movie be so offensive that my vagina itself will grab a megaphone and stage some sort of protest? Should you be wrestling with any of these issues before checking out Bitch Slap, well, you can rest easy. In fact, rather...

"Bitch Slap" is a new action film directed by Rick Jacobson, from a screenplay by Jacobson and Eric Gruendemann.
Described as a post-modern throwback to Russ Meyer, Roger Corman 'el cheapo' exploitation films of the 1950's-1970's, music for "Bitch Slap" was composed by John R. Graham with cinematography by Stuart Asbjornsen.
The film begins when three 'bad girls', including a stripper, drug-running killer and corporate powerbroker, arrive at a remote desert hideaway to extort a ruthless underworld boss.
"...Soon things quickly spin out of control as allegiances change, truths are revealed, other criminals arrive and the fate of the world hangs in the balance as the trio are forced to confront a villain much worse than they ever expected...themselves..."
Erin Cummings plays 'Hel', America Olivo is 'Camero' and Julia Voth is 'Trixie', with Lucy Lawless as 'Mother Superior', Minae Noji as 'Kinki', Kebin Sorbo as 'Mr.
