“When it rains, it feels like it’s pouring.”
This Is Us didn’t mess around in its fall finale, wrapping up the first half of its sophomore season with a whopper of a reveal at the end of the final installment of the Big Three trilogy. Titled “Number Three,” Tuesday’s episode explored Randall’s story in the past (Jack and Randall visit Howard University in Washington, D.C.) and the present (Beth and Randall agree to keep fostering after saying goodbye to Deja, with a hint at their next addition: an adorable, nameless young boy). But the biggest surprise came at the very end -- and it had nothing to do with Randall.

The U.S. government is formally contesting At&T's proposed $85 billion deal to acquire Time Warner. On Monday, the Justice Department filed a complaint in D.C. federal court that claims the merger flouts antitrust law and would harm competition. The government demands At&T and Time Warner be permanently enjoined from carrying out the proposed merger.
"At&T/DirecTV would hinder its rivals by forcing them to pay hundreds of millions of dollars more per year for Time Warner’s networks, and it would use its increased power to slow the industry’s transition to new and exciting video distribution models that provide greater choice for...

Judging by papers filed with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit this week, a dispute over the streaming of a Polish broadcaster's programming is likely to become an important one. The U.S. government is warning that it could hamper the ability of the Justice Department to crack down on large-scale criminal piracy abroad. And Disney, Fox, Warner Bros. and the leading trade groups in the music industry are hoping the federal appellate circuit clarifies that proof of infringement doesn't require what's known as "volitional conduct."

“Mindhunter” is nothing like “House of Cards.”
“Mindhunter,” adapted from a novel by Mark Olshaker and John E. Douglas, is set in 1979 and follows two FBI agents, played by Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany, who are tasked with understanding the fractured psyches of serial killers in order to crack existing investigations and prevent future murders.
“House of Cards,” adapted from a British TV series by Andrew Davies, is set in the modern day and follows two married politicians, played by Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright, whose quest for power in Washington D.C. takes them to unexpected extremes.
Save for David Fincher’s involvement and their distribution platform, the trailer for “Mindhunter” doesn’t look anything like “House of Cards.”
Except, of course, it does: It looks exactly like “House of Cards” — literally. The sharp, clean contrast; the blue and gray color palette; the shadows and silhouettes. “Mindhunter” looks like “House of Cards...

At the halfway point of the year, it’s only right that we reflect on the best that 2017 TV has had to offer. But even though we’ve singled out our picks for the greatest shows from the past six months, that still leaves plenty of quality TV experiences unpraised.
Read More: The 10 Best TV Shows of 2017 (So Far)
With that in mind, we singled out 20 of the best TV episodes of the year. Some are from shows we’ll already given high marks to, while others are standout installments from series that sadly flew under the radar as they aired. The result is a cross-section of TV that covers comedy, drama, tragedy, triumph and all the spaces in between.
20. “Legion” – Season 1, Episode 6, “Chapter 6”

The very idea of war is insane. We send young people with limited life experience to fight in foreign lands, where they neither speak the language nor understand the culture, and expect what exactly? It's often a recipe for disaster.
We mitigate this risk through leadership. Junior officers (trained to manage young troops) are assigned to platoons and companies in the field, while senior officers are charged with planning, coordinating, and directing combat operations -- often at a great distance from the battlefield. It's a system that is most effective when applied to lightning-fast assaults and aggressive apprehension of territory, but woefully ill-suited to long-term occupation, which is where we find ourselves today in Iraq and Afghanistan, with no clear end in sight.
