- Born in Ventura California on January 15th, 1957 Bruce is the youngest son of Ben and Virginia Carson. Both his mother and father were professional musicians with his father playing guitar and his mother singing on radio and other bookings in Nashville, Tennessee. Bruce grew up in Ventura, California and graduated from Ventura High School in 1975. He worked as a carpenter and cement finisher for many years while going to acting school in Hollywood. While working on a show in Vasquez Rocks he was picked out by the stunt coordinator who invited him to his training camp in Castaic, California. After only a couple of months, another stunt coordinator picked him out of the crowd to double Kevin Blair from the series Rituals in his first film called "The Hills Have Eyes Part 2". Bruce had not finished the film when he got the call to double a new and up coming actor named Johnny Depp in Wes Craven's next film, "A Nightmare on Elm Street". - Bruce a 2nd degree black belt in Chinese kenpo and trained under kenpo legand Ed Parker. While once setting the world record for highest flying knife edge kick, the record was later waved off as people only saw him make the second successful attempt and not the first, also successful, attempt. Not knowing themselves that it required two they did not prompt him for a third.
- While visiting good friend William Smith in the hospital both Bruce and William discovered they are related as they are both decendants of Kit Carson.
- At Universal Studios Florida there are 10 gold plaques mounted on the wall of stage 23 for the first 10 films shot on the studio lot. The plaques will stay there for the life of the studio so this bit of history will not be forgotten. Bruce created and wrote the film "The night brings Charlie" which is the second film on the wall right after "Parenthood" with Steve Martin.
- Long time friends with Richard Stahl and his wife Kathryn Ish. Bruce met Stahl when he was 13 years old and remained friends with him until Stahl's death in 2006.
