Mega-director James Cameron has quite an impressive resume, with movies that range from Avatar to The Terminator. However, he is arguably best known for his work on the 1997 blockbuster hit, Titanic, staring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. The dedicated director, producer, film editor, and writer made more than 30 dives into the deep before creating his $2B masterpiece.
Now, almost 15 years after Titanic debuted and won the hearts of millions, Cameron is headlining a two-hour documentary to be aired on the National Geographic Channel in memory of the disaster's 100th anniversary. Michael Cascio, executive VP of programming for the network, described Cameron as a "Titanic freak" saying, “he is obsessed with trying to find out why exactly it sank. He’s actually comparing his research with his film to see what we’ve learned since then and what can advance the story.” Hmmmm, sounds like there may be another Titanic re-release...
