The Blossom family held a memorial to put Jason to rest, Archie tried to balance his music and football careers, and Betty uncovered some disturbing information about her family on Riverdale Season 1 Episode 5.
Below, TV Fanatics Mandy Treccia, Paul Dailly and Justin Carreiro debate the true evil of the Blossom family, Polly's hidden secret, and the latest development in the Jason Blossom murder investigation.
1. We got a closer look into the Blossom family lifestyle. How do you feel about this family now?
Mandy: I felt terrible for Cheryl. And for Jason, too. It makes a lot more sense why he ran away. I want to know what made the parents so cold and awful.
Paul: The family is terrible. It definitely made me think twice about how much I did not like Cheryl. There was a method to her madness and now I can't wait to see her annoy her parents some more.

The Jason Blossom memorial will be one to remember. Who says drama doesn't happen at the worst of times?
Things definitely went dark and dramatic on Riverdale Season 1 Episode 5.
Arguments, engagement twists And Cheryl effortlessly owning the room! The next town function will need to top this night. I loved it.
The feel of "Chapter Five: Heart of Darkness" was true to its name: This episode was darker compared to previous ones.
The lighting was more muted, the weather was mistier, and there was an uneasy undertone that worked for the plot in comparison to other offerings this season.
I particularly liked the scenes at Thornhill. The house had a gothic feel to it, and it reminded me of old horror movies. The editors and set designers wanted us to know it was an evil house.
Everything from the appearance of the cemetery to Cheryl's creepy nightmare highlighted this feeling.
