A frantic 911 call was placed after Monkees singer Davy Jones suffered a massive heart on Wednesday in Florida.

One of my most indelible memories of my dear friend Annette Cardona, who passed away last Wednesday at age 63 after a swift and unexpected battle with cancer, is sitting with her at the opening night of the revival of "A Chorus Line" a few years ago. Tears streamed down her face through most of the performance, partially because her mentor and pal Michael Bennett had asked her to play one of the major roles in the original New York production, but after a long and arduous decision process, Annette had chosen instead to take another juicy offer—to play Aldonza/Dulcinea in "The Man of La Mancha" on Broadway opposite Herschel Bernardi. But neither the memory of her fast friendship with the late great Bennett nor the loss of a plum role in a historic production was the main reason "A Chorus Line" brought tears to Annette's eyes. Granted, as she was.

Everyone who has seen Grease remembers Annette Charles' role as Cha Cha. Charles passed away Wednesday at the age of 63.
Lisa Lucas, a producer at ReelzChannel, knew Charles and shared some stories about the actress who went on to become a professor and social worker.
Charles started out as a dancer in the musical scene in New York City. Being half Chicano and half Italian, she pursued the few ethnic roles that were available at the time.
She had to really fight hard to be seen but she was really talented and kept going.
After starring in Broadway plays like West Side Story, Charles went to L.A. to pursue acting. She quickly got parts in some sitcoms but she got her big break when she was cast as Cha Cha in Grease.

Raise your arms. Wave goodbye to Annette Charles aka Annette Cardona aka Cha Cha Digregorio, "the best dancer at St. Bernadettes!" The former actress turned speech professor died Wednesday at the age of 63 of cancer. Strange that her death so closely followed Jeff Conaway's (Kenickie), her date to Grease's big "Born to Hand Jive" high school dance.
Her brief acting career consisted mostly of guest spots on 70s TV shows and two feature films but everyone associated with Grease (1978) will live on forever in the hearts of millions. Grease is still the word.

The leading female character of Grease (1978), Sandy Olsen, played by Olivia Newton-John, is the character who wears the clothes most typified by fancy dress companies pertaining to sell costumes linked to the film.
