Movie mogul Bob Weinstein's wife has filed for divorce, requesting a protective order against the producer.
Anne Weinstein moved to end her 12-year marriage on Friday and filed court papers in New York seeking to ban Weinstein from contacting her, claiming she feared "bodily harm".
A representative for Weinstein has dismissed the allegations of abuse, insisting the former book editor is acting irrationally following a family intervention to put a stop to her reported alcohol addiction.
Don Sloane tells the New York Daily News, "I can categorically state that there was no abuse. Any claim of abuse is irresponsible and frivolous. The alleged incident consisted of an intervention by family members... in an attempt to convince Bob's wife Annie to seek help for her drinking addiction."
However, Anne's lawyers, Bonnie Rabin and Harriet Cohen, have hit back at Sloane and denied that their client suffers from a dependency on alcohol.
Responding to Sloane's claims, they say, "This is a reckless and irresponsible statement which is wholly false. It is from Bob Weinstein's paid agent who does not know our client at all. After (Friday's) court appearance, she is now safe with her children."
The estranged couple has two young children together. Bob Weinstein also has two daughters from his first marriage.

Russell got inside the psychological and emotional realities of the composers he loved, for which we should be ever grateful
I had two surpassingly strange obsessions as a teenage music lover: Anton Bruckner and Arnold Bax. And so, it turned out, did Ken Russell. I could hardly believe it when, after making his Bruckner film in 1990, The Strange Affliction of Anton Bruckner – a study of the Austrian composer's obsessive compulsive disorders, monastic seclusion and infatuation with young girls – Russell made a TV film a couple of years later about Bax, The Secret Life of Arnold Bax, the biggest prime-time exposure this otherwise little-known English composer is probably ever going to get.
Russell himself played Bax, and Glenda Jackson took the role of one of Bax's lovers, the pianist Harriet Cohen (in fact one of her last acting jobs before devoting her life to politics). But the scene that's burned into...
