The Lincoln Lawyer was all set it seemed. It had its lead and co-star/director all lined up and was ready to shoot. Unfortunately the co-star/director was Tommy Lee Jones and he has officially jumped ship.
Based on a novel written by Michael Connell the story was about a criminal lawyer in L.A. who works out the back of his car while being driven around by a previous client in an attempt to pay off his legal fees. Mr Jones was going to direct Matthew McConaughey in the lead but has left the project due to creative differences.
No news on if McConaughey will still be staying with the production as yet but seeing as shooting is to begin next spring the producers had better find a director and co-star quick.
What’s the bet the Tommy walked away from the project after watching Failure To Launch, Fools...

McConaughey was slated to play the lead, a criminal attorney in La who works out of the back of his car while being driven around by a previous client working off his fees – all a bit Driving Miss Daisy with added crims – and while we’d have loved to see Jones in the chauffeur role, he clearly had other ideas.Admittedly Jones is a busy man – he’s in post-production on telefilm The Sunset Limited for HBO, wrapped The Company Men with Ben Affleck and Kevin Costner and is prepping Ernest Hemingway adap Islands in the Stream...
