Playboy founder Hugh Hefner became a controversial figure when he was accused of subjecting girls to s*xual abuse and exploitation. Most recently, his life became a subject of scrutiny in the documentary, Secrets of Playboy. Hefner’s Playboy mansion was home to numerous women at a time, who were all considered Hefner’s girlfriends. Hefner also had several strict rules for these girlfriends.

For years, these girls were tight-lipped about the experiences inside the mansion, mainly due to the signing of NDAs with the company. However, with Hefner’s passing in 2017, more women spoke out against the questionable lifestyle of the mogul.

The Playboy empire is a subject of extreme controversy, especially in recent years, following the release of a scathing documentary titled Secrets of Playboy. Many critics have labeled founder and figurehead Hugh Hefner, who passed away in 2017, as an alleged perpetrator of sexual abuse and exploitation. Additionally, several of Hefner’s girlfriends have spoken out against the late mogul, with former The Girls Next Door star Holly Madison slamming her late boyfriend for putting a series of strict rules in place that his girlfriends had to follow.

Hefner was born in 1926 and raised in a middle-class family. However, Hefner had big ambitions, leaving his job as a copywriter to found Playboy magazine. The magazine originally featured short stories, essays, and photo spreads, but it quickly became known as a publication for men to salivate over pictures of nude and nearly-nude women.

Long before Jenny McCarthy launched into her current roles as SiriusXM talk show host and “celebrity detective” on “The Masked Singer”, she was best known as one of Playboy‘s most popular Playmates, appearing on six Playboy covers over the years.
McCarthy, however, was conspicuous by her absence from “Secrets of Playboy”, the recent A&e docuseries that painted a dark picture of Hugh Hefner’s empire, with numerous women sharing allegations of misconduct at the famed Playboy Mansion.
During a recent appearance on the “#NoFilter with Zack Peter” podcast, as reported by TooFab, McCarthy revealed that producers envisioned her in a major role in the docuseries.

If the past week is any indication, Brett Ratner’s long-in-development Hugh Hefner biopic could be well worth the wait.
With film fans still reeling from the news that Jared Leto (Blade Runner 2049) has come on board to headline the feature, we’re now learning that a Suicide Squad reunion could be on the cards, as one source close to The Mirror has tipped Margot Robbie to play one of Hefner’s three wives: Mildred Williams, Kimberley Conrad, or Crystal Harris.
Hugh Hefner was supposedly a big fan of the Aussie actress prior to his recent death, having extended an invitation for her to appear in Playboy Magazine circa 2014. Robbie politely declined the offer, but it’s understood the Hollywood star has now entered talks to co-star in Ratner’s biopic, one that will seemingly chronicle the rise and rise of Hugh Hefner, from shrewd businessman to renown entrepreneur.

Hugh Hefner died on Wednesday at the age of 91, and the American media icon leaves behind an impressive fortune. The question now is, who will be receiving a piece of the sizeable inheritance?
With an enormous publishing empire to his name -- which Hefner founded in the early 1950s with a total start-up capital of $8,000 including money he borrowed from his mom -- the Playboy founder's estate is estimated to be worth $50 million.
However, a source close to Hefner’s family tells Et that the family is not expecting any battle over money because his wife, Crystal Harris, was "made well aware that she was not going to be inheriting anything from his death when they married."

A very detailed Esquire article about Playboy kingpin Hugh Hefner reveals an interesting, yet terrifying statistic. Hefner, who married his third wife, Crystal Harris, on New Year's Eve 2012, claims he has bedded more than 1,000 women in his life.
When asked for the number of women he's been with, Hef responds, "How could I possibly know? Over a thousand, I'm sure." However, he says he's always been faithful in his marriages. "There were chunks of my life when I was married, and when I was married I never cheated," he explains, "But I made up for it when I wasn't married. You have to keep your hand in."
Hefner has admitted in the past, though, that he slept with other women with the permission of his first wife, Midred Williams. She allowed it after admitting she had cheated on him while he was in the military. They divorced in 1959. Hefner was married to his second wife,...

Harris had previously spoken of her plans to wear a pink wedding dress. The marriage would have been her first. The couple met in 2008, and Harris became Playmate of the Month for December 2009. Hefner divorced his second wife, Kimberly Conrad, in 2009.

According to reports on TMZ, which first broke the news, the couple had an argument over the weekend, prompting Harris to move out of the famed mansion. Newly-engaged Hugh Hefner is profiled in the New York Times magazine, and he talks about his wild past and finally settling down at 84 with Crystal Harris, 24.

Hef tells the Nyt that his first two wives cheated on him, and he felt older and "not well" during his marriage to Kimberley Conrad, the Playmate he wed in 1989. Their divorce was not finalized until last year, even though they split in 1998.
