Lucerne, Switzerland -- The Rose d'Or, Europe's premiere television festival, has launched its 49th edition with a new educational initiative to train the next generation of TV production execs.
The Rose d'Or Academy, developed by festival director Urban Frye, U.K. Small-screen director David G. Croft ("Live Aid," "Top of the Pops") and Jon Diamond of London's LipSync production house, will provide students with an intensive TV production workshop.
Over the course of the Rose d'Or Fest, which runs May 2-5, participating students will have the chance to direct and edit a multicamera music video for Swiss band Pegasus mentored by Croft and Diamond and with technical support from Swiss production center Tpc and Apple, which will provide the Final Cut Pro editing software.
Diamond and Croft will judge the final clips and the winner will receive a €2,000 ($2,600) cash prize and be screened at the Rose d'Or Awards Ceremony...
