- In The Boy Who Liked Deer (1975) the teacher recites "in Just-" by cummings.
- In Hannah and Her Sisters (1986) Eliot (Michael Caine) gives Lee (Barbara Hershey) a book with the poem "somewhere i have never traveled, gladly beyond", by e.e. cummings, which includes the line: "nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands". However, the poem isn't actually on page 112 of the book.
- In the wedding scene in In Her Shoes (2005) Maggie (Cameron Diaz) reads from "I Carry Your Heart" by cummings.
- In Because I Said So (2007) the names of the sisters (Lauren Graham as Maggie, Mandy Moore as Milly and Piper Perabo as Mae) come from an e.e. cummings poem that starts "Maggie and Milly and Molly and May went to he beach to play one day.".
- Daughter, Nancy Thayer Andrews (born December 20, 1919 - died August 11, 2006), from an affair he had with then-married Elaine Orr Thayer. He and Elaine later got married and then divorced a few months later.
- In 1943, his daughter Nancy married the grandson of former U.S. president Theodore Roosevelt, Joseph Willard Roosevelt. In 1945, she and Roosevelt had their first child, Simon Willard (born September 17, 1945), later she would have another child with Roosevelt before divorcing. She married writer Kevin Andrews in 1954 and had 2 daughters with him, Ioanna and Alexis. They separated in 1968 but never legally got divorced.
- Pictured on one of ten USA nondenominated commemorative postage stamps celebrating "20th Century Poets", issued as a pane of 20 stamps on 21 April 2012. Other stamps in this issued honored Joseph Brodsky, Gwendolyn Brooks, Sylvia Plath, Wallace Stevens, William Carlos Williams, Elizabeth Bishop, Robert Hayden, Denise Levertov, and Theodore Roethke. The price of each stamp on day of issue was 45¢.
