- At age 15 she became an apprentice to famous Paris milliner Caroline Reboux.
- She came to New York in 1924 and opened her own business, closing in 1969 following the retirement of her husband, a Coty vice-president.
- Published her autobiography "Talking Through My Hats" in 1946.
- In 1940 she won the Neiman-Marcus fashion award and in 1943 she won the first Coty American Fashion Critics Award for millinery. The Coty award was presented to her by Executive Vice President of Coty, Mr. Jean Despres. Mr. Despres was also her husband.
