Eva Dahlbeck

Was awarded the Eugene O'Neill Award, one of Sweden's most important theater awards in 1961.
Known for her work in the films of Ingmar Bergman during the 1950's, and her famous screen partnership with the actor Gunnar Bjoernstrand.
Started writing in the 1960s, publishing several novels and poems in Sweden.
Left the movie industry in 1964 (apart from occasional filmings) to become a writer. (2002)
Attended the Dramatens elevskola, the Royal Dramatic Theater's drama school, from 1941 to 1944.
Born to Edvard Dahlbeck, a secretary, and his wife Greta Österberg.
Survivors include two sons, David and Tomas Lampell.
Graduated from high school in 1939.
On stage from 1941 to 1964, in films from 1942 to 1970. After 1970, mostly active as writer.
