The latest haunted house horror to burst onto the big screen is 2 Bedroom 1 Bath (review), named so for the typical, banal listing description of an apartment.
It tells the story of Rachel (Michelle Hicks) and Kevin Foster (Andrew W. Walker), a couple who have finally found the ideal home where they can build a future and raise their children. They are hoping it’s a fresh start for their troubled marriage, but as they begin to settle into their new digs, their plans are interrupted by strange occurrences.
As it so happens, director Stanley Yung was inspired by true events when he embarked on this, his first foray into full-on horror. We got a chance to catch up with him at the special event premiere screening of the film, and here’s what he had to say about making a scary movie.

Seth Coltan knows how to lose friends and alienate people. At least, he lost agents and alienated casting directors in his first few years auditioning in Los Angeles, when he thought being pushy, dishonest, and offensive were the best ways to get noticed. The actor says he eventually realized he "was doing everything wrong" as an intern for casting directors Nan Dutton and Scott David. He quickly learned about proper audition etiquette, the value of professionalism, and the importance of the relationships between casting directors, actors, and agents."Casting directors and actors really are on the same team," Coltan says. "Casting directors are rooting for the actors."Now more experienced and self-aware, Coltan can find humor in the often awkward and uncomfortable situations he got himself into as a young actor. He has turned his horrible audition mistakes into funny sketches for "obSETHed," a web series he created. He even recruited casting directors.

Here are the 2010 Los Angeles Reader's Choice results for categories dealing with casting directors. To look at all of the categories, be sure to visit the main page.Favorite Casting Director Workshop: Talent to GoSix years ago, accomplished actors Patricia Tallman and Judy Kain found that work had slowed for each of them. They decided it was time to create a casting director workshop that would help experienced actors further their careers in a way that showcased the actors' strengths."When I get a piece of copy, I get coached and I'm familiar with that copy," says Kain. "We were not going to do one of those cold-reading workshops—not that there's anything wrong with them—but we wanted to do something where the actor could really put their best foot forward. Where it was advantageous for the actor. Where they could really show what they do best, so that...
