- Journalist, he did an interview with Adolf Hitler in 1933 and continued to meet with him as he worked in France for better relations with Nazi Germany. During the occupation of France, he was ambassador of Vichy at the German administration in Paris. For his continuous work, he was condemned after the Liberation for high treason to death.
- His wife known as Lisette was the cousin of Emmanuel Berl and had 2 children from her first marriage . She converted to Catholicism to wed de Brinon and had no problem during the Occupation of France as a former Jew. Her son journalist Bernard Ullmann (13 January 1922-31 December 2008) wrote her biography.
