There are many cases where the same showrunners take actors from projects they have previously worked on and give them offers for upcoming works with Taylor Sheridan being no different. Hugh Dillon became one of the few who went from Wind River to Mayor of Kingstown. Jeremy Renner too met a similar fate. However, for Ryan Bingham, the case was almost the same.
In addition to being a creator, Taylor Sheridan played Travis Wheatley in Yellowstone
The actor almost had an opportunity of starring alongside Jeremy Renner in Wind River. Although not the same, he got the chance to play Walker in Sheridan’s Yellowstone. One of the most loved characters, Walker had a lot of impact on the fans despite his little screen time. Although he was first asked to write a song for Renner’s film, his true calling stood as an actor in the series.

“Welcome to Kingstown,” Jeremy Renner’s Mike McLusky says in a cool manner just after a clip of him throwing someone off a roof. No pussyfooting around it, the new trailer of the successful Paramount+ series premieres (courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter) declaring that “He’s back in business.” Fans and well-wishers of Jeremy Renner may have been following his updates on his health recovery since his horrific 2023 snow plow accident. It almost seems like he hasn’t missed a beat as Renner makes his acting debut since the incident for season 3 of Mayor of Kingstown. The actor would even convey his nervousness upon returning to work in social media posts earlier this year, “Day one on set … nervous today. Jeremy Renner looks like he hasn’t lost a step in the first full official trailer for the long-awaited third season of Mayor of Kingstown.
Below, Renner is back in business as a Michigan crime boss in the Paramount+ series, which is from co-creators Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon.
The season marks Renner’s acting comeback following his near-fatal 2023 New Year’s Day snowplow accident. Renner returned to set one year after he was critically injured after being run over by a 14,300-pound snowcat at his home in Reno, Nevada. He had broken 38 bones and his rib cage was rebuilt with metal, along with metal plates in his face to support his eye socket and titanium rods in one of his legs.
But you wouldn’t know it from the new footage.

Taylor Sheridan has had his hands full with two incredibly demanding shows. Both Yellowstone and the Mayor of Kingstown have some of the most talented actors and actresses. With the work and dedication that has gone into the making of the shows, there is no doubt that the fanbase is just as strong.
It takes a great amount of understanding to perfect shows and the characters within them, something that can be tampered with because of divided attention.
Taylor Sheridan created and acted in Yellowstone
To counter such a problem, there are many ways. Whether it goes to smaller levels such as focus exercises or simply vigorous practice. Sometimes, however, it can go so far as to leave one project for another.

Taylor Sheridan has proven to be a more than capable writer when it comes to writing women in fiction, with Sicario and Wind River, starring Jeremy Renner, being two major examples. Throughout the 2010s, Jeremy Renner’s career was mostly dictated by his stint in the MCU as Hawkeye, overshadowing some of his most acclaimed performances outside the cinematic giant. Fortunately, thanks to Taylor Sheridan’s Mayor of Kingstown, which marked the actor’s small screen debut, the Mission: Impossible star was once again able to put his acting chops to the display.

As it happened at the start of the calendar year, much of his 2023 was spent rehabilitating his body after suffering blunt chest trauma and 30 broken bones. Then, earlier this January, Renner teased his return to the set, with great apprehension, when he posted a pic from the production with the caption, “Day one on set … nervous today. Hope this works out that I can Actually pull this off for our production and more importantly the fans.“ Now, the new trailer for season 3 of Mayor of Kingstown has dropped.
The logline for the season reads,
“A series of explosions rock Kingstown and its citizens, as a new face of the Russian mob sets up shop in the city, and a drug war rages inside and outside prison walls.

Jeremy Renner is back as Mike McLusky in the first trailer for the actor’s Mayor of Kingstown return.
The third season of the Taylor Sheridan Paramount+ series marks Renner’s acting comeback following his near-fatal 2023 New Year’s Day snowplow accident.
When marking being back on set after months of intense recovery, the series star had said he was nervous. “Hope this works out that I can Actually pull this off for our production and more importantly the fans,” he wrote on Instagram.

Jeremy Renner is ready to resume his role as the figurative Mayor of Kingstown, exactly one year after the snowplow accident that nearly ended his life.
Last January 1, Renner — after using his personal Sno-Cat to help a nephew whose car was stuck in the snow, at the actor’s Lake Tahoe property — got out of the plow, which then started to roll. When Renner tried to get back in to stop the 1,400-lb. machine, it ran him over.
