Ireland’s Deadpan Pictures (“Northern Lights”) and France’s Thalie Images are teaming up on “The Continental Method,” an ambitious spy comedy thriller set against the backdrop of the Paris riots of May 1968.
The European half-hour series is inspired by the true story of Conor O’Flaherty, a fresh-faced Irish salesman who became an unlikely spy in Paris. The twelve-part show is penned by John Morton (“Dead Still”) and Victor Lockwood (“Mental”) who are leading a writing team.
Red Arrow Studios International will kick-off pre-sales at Mipcom for territories outside of France and Ireland. Deadpan Pictures is co-producing the show with Paris-based Thalie Images, which is part of Kabo Family, a subsidiary of Asacha Media Group.

Lexx: The Complete Series
Stars: Brian Downey, Eva Habermann, Michael McManus, Jeffrey Hirschfield, Xenai Seeberg | Created by Paul Donovan
A cult hit known for its quirky, sexually charged adult storylines and ‘boldly’ talking sci-fi where others had not gone before, Lexx finally hits DVD in a complete series boxset from Mediumrare Entertainment.
Opening with four television movies, Lexx caused a huge splash on its initial airing on both sides of the pond, with Channel 5 (as it known at the time) scoring massive ratings for both the 4-movie mini-series and the three series that followed. Toronto -- Canadian distributor Entertainment One on Monday unveiled a reverse takeover of rival Dhx Media in a bid to secure a coveted listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
E1, which already trades on Britain's Aim market, will pay about Can$68 million ($65.7 million), or Can$1.59 ($1.54) per share, for Halifax-based Dhx Media.
Subject to shareholder and regulatory approval, the completed deal will see E1 CEO Darren Throop remain in the top post at the combined company, while "key members" of Dhx's senior management team will stay with the firm as part of its newly minted TV division.
In July, E1 got into TV production as it acquired rival Canadian producers Blueprint Entertainment and Barna-Alper Prods. along with distributors Oasis International and Maximum Films.
