- Anita Dorris was born on December 21, 1903 in Lübeck [now Schleswig-Holstein], Germany. She was an actress, known for Svengali (1927), Die Sache mit Schorrsiegel (1928) and Liebeshandel (1927). She was married to E.W. Emo. She died on December 24, 1993 in Vienna, Austria.

- German leading lady of the 1920's, best remembered as Trilby in the Terra-Filmkunst production of Svengali (1927). A printer's daughter, she began on stage in 1921 as Anita Dorothea Schmidt. She changed her name to Anita Dorris in 1926 after making her debut in motion pictures. After a mere five years, she retired from the screen at the request of her director-husband, E.W. Emo.
