Brian Dowrick
- Visual Effects
- Animation Department
Born in Philadelphia, Brian's interest in Animation started when he was
a young child, who would constantly get beat up by bigger kids in the
City. Art was an easy outlet for venting frustrations, but his witty
caricatures then made him a good sprinter.
Family members were relieved when he chose a school away from home. With Brian away, all their new books were now safe from being turned into flip-books.
After graduating from University of the Arts in Philadelphia, with a BFA in Animation and several Awards including a Student Academy Award, and an Academy of Television Arts & Sciences College Television award for Animation, Brian made his way out West to California.
Brian Dowrick is now an Animator with over 16 years work experience, and has worked on many feature films, and more then 52 commercials. Traditionally trained, he worked in 2D for a few years before making the switch to 3D.
An avid Halloween enthusiast, Brian makes his own Halloween costumes, by sewing, and molding and casting plastics. He still enjoys running (done mostly for Charity), but also completed the Los Angeles Marathon twice. The people at the Starbucks in Toronto, and Jamba Juice in Los Angeles, know him by name. When he's not out saving small children from hunger, teaching self defense in Bei Jing, or drinking Mocha-Frappuccinos, he's buying gold, and leaving origami twenties in restaurants.
