He was handed a film career out of nowhere by James Cagney, who took a
liking to the baby-faced kid and gave him co-starring roles in a couple
of his rugged features, with little prior experience.
His last performance was as Willie Loman in Death of A Salesman at the
Warehouse Theatre in Greenville, South Carolina, just a few months before his death in 1991.
