The birth of Hinterland and the emergence of its title character find Thomas and Harrington walking out onto the vast landscape of a genre. Despite being at the beginning of his journey, Tom Mathias has joined a heritage of crime detection, and therein has become a chapter in its storied history. From a discussion of the birth of Hinterland to the place of Tom Mathias within this heritage; to the creation of a world caught between genre and reality is now the “traffic of our stage.”
“Every detective is a cliché in lots of ways, because you are trying to compare him to the one’s that have gone before” offers Harrington. “I grew up with the Columbos, and I was a massive fan of Hill Street Blues. But the one thing I was consciously avoiding was portraying Mathias like anyone else.

Rob continues his nonstop work schedule, this time jetting straight to Berlin to promote his new film after a weekend of shooting ‘Breaking Dawn!’
Robert Pattinson enjoyed a day off from work April 25 doing what he usually does — traveling to his next job! The actor left St. Thomas early in the morning, arriving in Miami a few hours later and then jetting off to Berlin, to begin promoting his new film Water for Elephants. His Breaking Dawn costar and girlfriend Kristen Stewart did not accompany him on the trip, but that doesn’t mean she won’t be joining him in Berlin!
Kristen previously flew across the country just to spend a few hours with Rob and support him at the NYC premiere of Water for Elephants. If she doesn’t make it in time for the April 27 Berlin premiere, she could always meet him the next day in Paris...

Rob is either heading back home for a break or right over to Europe for more ‘Water for Elephants’ premieres — will Kristen be joining him?
After some late night romantic shoots with girlfriend Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and his guitar, jetted off St. Thomas early in the morning April 25 for a destination unknown. Given his new film Water for Elephants is premiering later this week in Berlin and Paris, it seems likely Rob was heading off on an European adventure!
Rob and Kristen spent the past few nights filming some more Breaking Dawn honeymoon scenes on a very guarded beach in St. Thomas. It seems like this really is the end of filming for the flick, save maybe just a few more reshoots much, much further down the road.
Rob will be in Berlin April 27 for his film’s premiere and then in Paris the next day. Hopefully the actor...
