- He was a key member of George Lucas' Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), a company that has become a Hollywood powerhouse of cutting-edge film technology. In 1981 he and ILM won two Scientific and Engineering Awards from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for the development of the Empire motion picture camera system and a beam-splitter optical composite motion picture printer.
