Rita Garcia is the newest co-host for Good Day La. She’ll be taking over for Steve Edwards and is considered to be a great addition to an already professional team. Her road thus far has taken her from La to Houston and and now back to La as she’s steadily climbed her way up the ladder trying to do the best she can and give the best newscast she can to the people. Her professionalism is matched only by her ability to truly cover a story and know just what she’s talking about at any given time. That type of

A spokeswoman for Fox11 told Deadline in a statement, “We can confirm that Steve Edwards is no longer employed by Kttv." Sources say his dismissal stems from sexual harassment allegations, but the station would not confirm that. Edwards has been on the heavily caffeinated morning show since 1995, and his ties to local L.A. TV go back even farther to…...

Ann Coulter dropped by "Good Day La" Thursday (Nov. 7) to chat about the hot topics of the day -- one of those being newly reelected New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, and how he may or may not be a Gop frontrunner for the 2016 presidential election.
At first, Coulter admits backhandedly "there's a lot to like about" Christie, while throwing in a fat joke. Then she says that for all his faults, the media buzz about him is the nail in the coffin for her. "Doesn't that make you suspicious," she asks, "when liberals are all telling us 'this is your strongest candidate?'"
When Gdla host Steve Edwards points out Arizona Sen. John McCain was in a similar situation when he ran for president, Coulter replies, "Well, Ok. Christie does have eight times John McCain's Iq." She then tells an incredulous Edwards, "That's a rough estimate."

Comic Artie Lange has gone to hell and back with addiction and drinking issues. But during an interview on Ktla this morning, he tells host journalist Steve Edwards it was an act of kindness from Bruce Springsteen who also helped him recover. "It was once of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me," said Lange, who walks the straight path now. "I'm in great shape except that I could lose a few pounds." Lange recounted how Springsten called his mother to arrange a meeting with Lange, who was home trying to remain sober. Fans of the frequent guest on Howard Stern's radio show who wound up having his own series can visit with him tonight, Monday, November...

Today was Dorothy Lucey’s final day on Kttv’s Good Day L.A. after her contract was not renewed. Here is her sendoff on the show from co-anchors Jillian Reynolds, who is switching to freelance status, and Steve Edwards. The video references a story in yesterday’s La Times that mentions “unflattering comments about Lucey” made previously by Reynolds on Howard Stern’s radio show and gives a shoutout to Deadline for breaking the story on the Good Day L.A. changes. In light of Lucey’s departure, the show will hold on-air tryouts for the vacant chair in the mold of the syndicated Live With Kelly. Cloris Leachman, who stars as the eccentric grandma Maw Maw on the Fox comedy "Raising Hope," stopped by "Good Day La" (weekdays, 9 a.m. Pt on Fox) for a typically-freewheeling interview. After she cracked up while watching a clip of her show, Dorothy Lucey asked Leachman if she was feeling nuts. "I'm never being nuts. I'm always being a lovely older actress ... who's not as old as that old 90-year-old," Leachman protested, taking a friendly jab at her long-time friend and former "Mary Tyler Moore" co-star Betty White, who celebrated her 90th birthday with a televised special Monday night on NBC.
Leachman went on to wish White a happy birthday, and apologized for not making it to her birthday bash (she was "forced to go to a Fox event"). Steve Edwards asked Leachman, who's four years younger than White, if it was nice to have an older woman for a role model.

Lucas Neff, who plays the father of the possible-future-serial-killer baby on 'Raising Hope,' stopped by 'Good Day La' (weekdays, 9Am Pt on Fox) to hang out with Jillian Barberie, Dorothy Lucey and his sometime co-star Steve Edwards, who's shown his acting range in a few episodes of 'Raising Hope,' appearing as a news anchor.
Dorothy asked if his other co-star Cloris Leachman was afraid of the baby. "Everybody's afraid of this baby," he said. "It's the most terrifying baby on prime-time." 'Hope' is actually played by a set of twins, Bailey and Riley, who Lucas said are "really great listeners."

Rob Kardashian insists he doesn't care about reality TV fame. "I'm not like my sisters, I'm different, I'm just not out there, I'm a homebody," he told 'Good Day L.A.' (weekdays, 7Am Pt on Fox). But yet, after being born into reality TV royalty, he's chosen to pull double-duty on 'Dancing With the Stars.'
Rob remains conflicted about his newfound 'Dancing' fame. When Jillian Barberie pointed out that his whole life is now camera, he replied, "I know, I hate all that ... I wish the cameras weren't there, I'd do better." He's also eschewing traditional 'Dancing' norms by shooting down rumors that he's dating his partner Cheryl Burke. "No, I keep it strictly ... I just want her to teach me to do well," he said, before both Barberie and Steve Edwards finished his thought with the phrase "strictly ballroom!"

Fox 11 morning show host Steve Edwards accepted the Governor's award at the 62nd Annual L.A. Area Emmy Awards Saturday night with characteristic self-depreciating humor about five decades on the dial in Southern California, the last 15 years as host of "Good Day L.A." "I'm feeling too young for this award," joked Edwards. "I'm just getting started."
But it was Knbc's night to sweep the top Emmy awards for English and Spanish language local news stations in Southern California. KNBC4 won six Emmys alone and one with Spanish station KVEA52. Those included the Emmys for Daily Evening Newscast (Ch.4 News at 11); Daytime Newscast (Ch. 4 News at 5 p.m.), Outstanding Hard News Reporting (Ana Garcia and Fred Momoun), Entertainment Program ("My 1st Time Nominated for an Academy Award") and outstanding news feature (Chuck Henry).
Public TV station Kcet tied for second with five Emmys, along with Ktla, which took best morning show.

The Bible doesn't tell us on what day God created fried chicken, but His Son is sure to love him some crusty breast and thighs. According to Oprah, anyway. What?! Check the clip for all the miraculous details. And while he may not be quite as old as J.C., aging Good Day L.A. anchor Steve Edwards displays the old school charm that Soup fans know and love. Though perhap not Indian Soup fans. Not to worry, Steve later apologizes...for something.
