Exclusive: Taye Diggs, known for his five-season run starring as the beloved Billy Baker, former NFL player turned high school football coach, on CW’s All American, has signed with A Management Company and Global Artists Agency for representation.
Diggs can next be seen leading the two-part BET+ film Love & Murder: Atlanta Playboy based on the true crime story of businessman Lance Herndon. In the film, Diggs stars as Lance (Diggs), a successful Atlanta businessman, renowned in equal measure for both revolutionizing the city’s 911 system, and his womanizing ways. When he is found murdered in his own home, questions and allegations abound as to who might have wanted him dead.
Diggs also is set to voice King Triton with Amber Riley as Ursula in Ariel, the Disney/Disney Junior animated series.

Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Tuesday. (The answer to the second, “What is the best show currently on TV?” can be found at the end of this post.)
This week’s question: What is one of the best shows of the year that you think will be snubbed/overlooked when it comes to the Top 10 Best-of lists for 2016?
Ben Travers (@BenTTravers), IndieWire
As much as I’d like to point to an early year entry like “Bloodline” Season 2 (far better than Season 1, thanks to the improved structure) or “The Path” (Hulu’s most complete offering to date), I’m going to make the case for “Divorce.” I feel the HBO drama — “black comedy” could fit, too, but the show’s highest merits lie within its emotional substance — may be overlooked simply because too many critics (and viewers) find it hard to return to,...

When Murder in the First Season 3 premieres on Sunday, June 26, there will be a new Assistant Attorney General in town.
Amanda Schull will be playing Melissa Danson, a ruthless new addition to the Attorney General's office.
Just how far will she be willing to go to get ahead?
From the looks of this exclusive clip, she's willing to go pretty darn far.
It's easy to see why Da Mario Siletti (Currie Graham) is a little worried about the birthday gift Melissa is offering.
If I were him, I might not make the joke about Melissa becoming Facebook friends with his wife.
After all, just how well does he know this woman?
The answer is that after his birthday gift, he will probably know her a little bit better.
Ok. A Lot better, if he really goes through will the receipt of said gift. A little privacy in the ladies room?...

TNT gives us another entry in the long arc murder mystery with Murder in the First (a random title, by the way), which focuses on two detectives and the dot com stereotype who is too close to a couple of murders. Hildy Mulligan (Kathleen Robertson) and Terry English (Taye Diggs) stumble onto a case that seems very simple, but soon leads them to tech genius Erich Blunt (Tom Felton). If the show has a gimmick, it’s the depth to which we are exposed to the lives of Hildy and Terry. We enter our little world as Terry is trying to come to grips with the idea that his wife is going to succumb to the cancer she’s been fighting, and Hildy… well, she has her own problems, but mainly we just follow along as she tries to balance her life.

TNT's next crime drama, "Murder in the First," brings back producer Steven Bochco while moving into brand-new territory with a full-season murder mystery. The cast and producers presented the upcoming show at the 2014 Television Critics Association on Friday (Jan. 10).
"Murder in the First" follows San Francisco homicide detectives Terry English (Taye Diggs) and Hildy Mulligan (Kathleen Robertson) during the investigation of a drug-related murder that somehow connects to a high-powered CEO in Silicon Valley.
Set to air in the summer of 2014, "Murder in the First" will comprise only 10 episodes and will focus on a single crime -- think "The Killing," only with a solution to the crime and less rain. Bochco explained how the shorter season may be essential for making the full-season crime show work.
"You're really struggling to make every episode in the service to the overall story," he says of his old standard of 20-26 episodes per season.

TNT‘s new Steven Bochco drama Murder In The First will follow a single case across an entire season. So too did Bochco’s short-lived mid-1990s drama Murder One for ABC. “When we did Murder One, we were halfway through [the first season of 23 episodes] and I didn’t know how it was going to end, which was a little intense,” Bochco told TV critics today at the TCA Winter Press Tour. He also noted: “And over that many episodes you really struggling to make every hour sustain itself in the service of a single storyline. Twelve episodes seems to me to be an ideal length for this format and it really eliminates the necessity of filler. It also gives us much more time to think about what we’re doing and to craft our scripts…It’s all around a much nicer way to work.” The new drama centers on San Francisco homicide...

Since 19th July, The London Film Museum has been running an exhibition of props and costumes from 20th Century Fox movies to celebrate the studio’s 75th anniversary. Clothes on Film decided to make a visit, a bit late in the day, but we had a good look round anyway.
There were not that many costumes in the Fox exhibition (certainly considering the history of the studio), but the museum itself has plenty more to see. Just to be in the same room as some of these memorable outfits is a thrill, especially from more recent movies where memories are fresh.
