Jim Wynorski is a legend in the B-movie world, having racked up over 100 directing credits over the course of his 40+ years of working in the entertainment industry. Among those credits are Chopping Mall, Deathstalker II, The Return of Swamp Thing, Sorority House Massacre II, Hard to Die, Ghoulies IV, Demolition High, Piranhaconda, Sharkansas Women’s Prison Massacre, Attack of the 50 Foot CamGirl, and Murderbot – so it’s clear to see why Wynorski was the subject of a documentary back in 2009. The documentary is called Popatopolis, and the folks at Terror Vision have just brought it to Blu-ray for the first time ever! Copies can be ordered at This Link.
Directed by Clay Westervelt, Popatopolis has the following synopsis: Jim Wynorski was the first to cast Traci Lords in mainstream cinema. He directed Heather Locklear in The Return of Swamp Thing. He discovered Jennifer Love Hewitt. Now, the man behind The Bare Wench Project...

Director Christopher Landon, along with stars Jessica Rothe and Israel Broussard as Tree Gelbman and Carter Davis, respectively return to the Blumhouse produced sequel of 2017′s surprise underground horror hit Happy Death Day with Happy Death Day 2U. An absurdly extravagant and absurdly evolved sequel and a film that manages to dial up an already bizarre concept to eleven and still manages to reap the benefits of a fun, entertaining venture that manages to hold its head above an overly convoluted sea of insanity and narrative confusion but only just.
Leading lady Jessica Rothe has undoubtedly cemented herself as an action horror heroine. Rothe has such splendid emotional range and depth. Crafting significant layers to a character tormented in burning agony by both past and...

Happy Death Day‘s inspired slasher-version-of-Groundhog-Day premise proved a surprise hit for Blumhouse Productions back in October 2017, so it’s no surprise that a sequel has followed less than two years later. With the entire cast and director Christopher Landon back on board, the sequel finds increasingly clever ways to build on the first film without just resorting to more of the same (even if “more of the same” is the entire point of a time loop movie).
Initially, Happy Death Day 2U begins by focusing on a different character, namely science student Ryan (Phi Vu) – the roommate of heroine Tree’s (Jessica Rothe) now-boyfriend Carter (Israel Broussard) – who only had variations on a one-line cameo last time round. Here it’s Ryan who finds...

John and Laura Taylor (Morris Chestnut and Regina Hall) are a young, professional couple who desperately want a baby. After exhausting all other options, they finally hire Anna (Jaz Sinclair), the perfect woman to be their surrogate – but as her pregnancy progresses, so too does her psychotic and dangerous fixation on John. The couple becomes caught up in Anna’s deadly game and must fight to regain control of their future before it’s too late.
Helming dozens of TV shows over a two decade period, director John Cassar has a very interesting resume. From the Hulk Hogan feature The Ultimate Weapon in 1998, through his most recent effort, the brand new series of 24, 24: Legacy, it also turns out Cassar has been...

Hollywood loves regular patterns, and one it has subscribed to recently is releasing a cost-effective psychological thriller aimed at an African-American audience during the second or third week of September.
The results have proven profitable so far such as with 2014's "No Good Deed" and 2015's "The Perfect Guy". Today, Screen Gems has unveiled the first trailer for this year's film in that slot - "When the Bough Breaks"
Playing like a variation of "The Hand That Rocks the Cradle," Morris Chestnut and Regina Hall star as a young, professional couple who hire a surrogate. As said woman gets further along in her pregnancy, her dangerous fixation on the husband increases.
Theo Rossi, Christina Bach, GiGi Erneta, Michelle DeVito, Boyana Balta, Justin Lebrun and Jeff Caperton also star in the film which Jon Cassar directs. It opens September 16th.

King of the b-movies (and I mean that in the most affection and positive way) Jim Wynorski has teamed up with CineTel Films and legendary b-movie producer Roger Corman for his latest slice of terror – Camel Spiders..! As the official synopsis explains:
Based on actual creatures that for years have tormented our armed forces in the Middle East, these creatures have invaded the southwestern deserts of the United States. The Camel Spiders now freely hunt for prey, unafraid of any predator – including man. No place is safe no one is beyond their paralyzing sting. In the end, a small band of hearty fighters are forced to make one last stand against the creatures.
Sounds like my kind of killer insect movie! Thankfully, director Wynorski deemed fit to unleash an early Camel Spiders teaser trailer on the world via Undead Backbrain, where you can also check out some behind the scenes production photos.
