Exclusive: Clay Tarver, who currently serves as an executive producer of HBO’s Silicon Valley, will pen My War, a film adaptation to his 2013 New York Times Magazine cover story, The Rock ’N Roll Casualty Who Became a War Hero, for Amazon Studios.
Based on a true story, it follows Jason Everman who was kicked out of two bands that went on to incredible fame – Nirvana and Soundgarden – only to rise to distinction as an elite member of the U.S. Army Special Forces.

Tarver, who previously co-wrote the 2001 Paul Walker-starring thriller Joy Ride with Jj Abrams, will executive produce the project. Bryan Haas is producing.
Tarver is repped by Wme, Wetdog Entertainment, and Hirsch Wallerstein.
