Game of Thrones alum Finn Jones could be making his bow as Marvel’s Iron Fist much sooner than expected, but he won’t be joined by Shang-Chi.
Contrary to previous reports, Bleeding Cool now claims that the character isn’t a part of Netflix’s standalone superhero series. First emerging shortly after the casting Jones in the title role, the rumor even went so far as to suggest that the Master of Kung-Fu would get a spinoff of his own, but in citing sources close to production, the outlet is reporting that no such plans are in place.

Will Finn Jones first appear in Mike Colter's Luke Cage series? Umberto "El Mayimbe" Gonzales was a recent guest on the Collider Heroes podcast and stated that was the case [around the 19:50 mark]. "Yes he is. Episode 13. That’s why it was announced, or else it would have leaked … They shot him last week." As usual, take this news with a grain of salt. Remember those rumors that Daredevil would show up in the finale of Jessica Jones? In a separate report from Bleeding Cool, the site reports that their sources tell them that Shang-Chi will not be appearing in Iron Fist. The news of Shang-Chi's inclusion was first reported by The Hashtag Show, who were the first to report that Finn Jones had been cast as Iron Fist so take your pick as to which site you believe. Fengshen Yanyi is the latest movie which will feature legend Jet Li going up against the supernatural, something even i did not see coming (But im glad it did). The director will be Wilson Yip (Ip Man), the movie will be based on the 16th-century Chinese novel by Xu Zhonglin about a declining Shang Dynasty set in (1600 BC–1046 BC) and the rise of the Zhou Dynasty (1046 BC–256 BC).
Plot:
The novel is a romanticised retelling of the overthrow of King Zhou, the last ruler of the Shang dynasty, by Ji Fa, who would establish the Zhou dynasty in place of Shang. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is a resolutely okay TV show. It’s neither great nor terrible, neither inspired nor boring. This in itself is an accomplishment. Shield — let’s just call it Shield, okay? — sits at an uneven borderland between a wide variety of corporate realities. It’s an unprecedented in-continuity TV spinoff-sequel to the equally unprecedented Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s produced by Marvel Studios and airs on ABC, which are in turn both owned by Disney.
For ABC, Shield was a tantalizing prospect. It offered the possibility of a built-in fanbase, something which is hugely important in the new post-apocalyptic network economy.

Considering the rising success Louis C.K. has seen in the last few years, largely due to his Diy work ethic in Louie as well as the waves he made regarding the self distribution of his last few stand-up specials, “Late Show Part 1” is a much harder sell than the similarly autobiographical Louie segment, “Oh, Louie”, in which C.K.’s troubles with network executives in developing an honest and authentic family sitcom were depicted. The dissonance felt in “Late Show Part 1” results from the fact that both Jay Leno and a fictional CBS chairman, excellently played with an apt combination of sleaze and cunning by Gary Marshall, characterize Louie’s appearance as lead guest on The Tonight Show as the big break for which he’s been waiting his entire career. Marshall even goes so far as to say the comedian, “peaked five years ago.” This...

A lot of last year’s Top 10 New Series have made it over to this year’s Top 10 Comics of 2011. Placement is really down to how quickly I read the comic once I’ve bought it; I think I’ve read more issues of Uncanny X-Force either standing in the comic shop or on the train home than anything else.
1: Uncanny X-Force | Marvel | W: Rick Remender | A: Jerome Opena
I said it last year and will say it again – The Best X-men Series, despite stiff competition from Uncanny X-Men, X-Men Legacy and Generation Hope. 19 issues in and still my favourite comic from Marvel. I love how Remender incorporates work done by other Marvel creative teams like Deathlok from Aaron’s Weapon X, and the Age of Apocalypse crossovers from back in the day. Uncanny X-Force is visually one of the most striking comics on the racks due to the work of Jerome Opena,...

In each of us, there burns the fury of a warrior. In every generation a few are chosen to prove it…
Mortal Kombat!!!
Back in 1995, fans of video games and action movies all stood up and started throwing flying kicks and fireballs when the trailer for the first adaptation of the popular video game uttered those first words.
“Mortal Kombat” was easily one of the most eagerly awaited films of that year, and while Christopher Lambert’s Raiden and company gave audiences a fun ride, the novelty soon wore off. “Mortal Kombat: Annihilation” bashed its audience to pieces two years later, annihilating the franchise with a fatality move that ended hopes for a third adventure.
Then, last year, a teaser for “Mortal Kombat: Rebirth” surfaced. Filmmaker Kevin Tancharoen shot the “proof-of-concept” on spec with hope it would convince the suits at Warner Bros. to greenlight a new feature film...

Again only comics I’ve bought that were published in 2010. If you think I’ve missed something please let me know in the comments section below, after all this is only mine and Phil’s opinions. I’m always open to trying new things… comics, I mean comics!
1: Uncanny X-Force | Marvel | W: Rick Remender | A: Jerome Opena
Only 3 issues in an this series is looking like the best X-Men series currently being published, and that’s not to say the titles by Fraction, Gillen, Carey, and David aren’t good, it’s just that Uncanny X-Force has that certain something that makes it stand out. It’s a combination of the tight, fast paced writing of Remender, the amazing art by Opena and White, and lots of little touches that the creators add that make it a perfect comic.
2: Avengers Children’s Crusade | Marvel | W: Allan Heinberg | A:...

As I speculated earlier this week, Marvel Comics’ Heroes For Hire is, according to the Diamond Comics listings, set to return to the comic store shelves this December.
Earlier this week Marvel released two teasers (embedded below) - Elektra alongside the caption ‘Assassin for Hire’; and The Falcon with the caption ‘Wingman for Hire’.
At the time I speculated that this could be the return of the Heroes For Hire – albeit totally different from their previous 2006 “Civil War” incarnation which featured Colleen Wing, Misty Knight, Tarantula, Shang-Chi, Humbug, Orka, Black Cat and Paladin.
Marvel have yet to officially announce Heroes For Hire, however an announcement is expected soon. More news as we have it.

Earlier this week, I asked you which Marvel property you'd most like to see as a live-action television series.
The product of a recent interview I conducted with Marvel Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada about the company's new television development department, the poll generated a lot of suggestions from readers, and some great comments regarding why each property would be a good fit for the live-action TV world.
After counting up the votes, crunching the numbers, and organizing the final tally, I have a list of which Marvel characters and teams You want to see on your TV... and why you want to see 'em!
Final Results
1. Heroes For Hire (Luke Cage and Iron Fist snag the top spot!): 21.93%

If you ever doubted whether or not "Lockjaw and the Pet Avengers" was in continuity with the rest of the Marvel Universe, Chris Eliopoulos set the record straight today. I didn't know that this was a major issue of contention for the book's readers, but apparently enough of them asked.
Brian Michael Bendis also engaged his readership while experimenting with some text-to-audio software with David Mack last night. You can find out more about that below. Click onward past the jump and you'll also find out who's mourning the reported disappearance of James Brown's body, what Microsoft Word does with the word "Halfing" and which conventions Ben Templesmith plans on attending this year.
It's all in the Twitter Report for March 12th, 2010.
@eliopoulos No, I'm saying Pet Avengers Is in continuity, but some folks insist on saying it isn't. There is no ambiguity in this story.

Some weeks are like this, Internet: you struggle to fill your largely ignored weekly comic book column with new, interesting releases that aren’t tie ins to crossovers or being made into movies, but some weeks you just clutter the week with Batman. And that’s okay, because Batman is awesome and superhero comics are good. The world just shouldn’t revolve around them. But this week they can, because two awesome Batman books are coming out in the same week. Batman, Batman, Batman.
