Public Image Ltd. have shared End of World, their first album in eight years. Listen to John Lydon and company’s latest effort below via Apple Music and Spotify.
The band began work on End of World in 2018, but they really experienced a “massive explosion of ideas” after the pandemic. When they announced the record back in April, the news followed the recent passing of Lydon’s wife, Nora Forster. The album cut “Hawaii” was written for her.
The follow-up to the 2015 release What the World Needs Now…, End of World also features the singles “Penge” and “Car Chase.” Next month, Public Image Ltd. will embark on a tour of the UK and Europe, and tickets are on sale here.
Earlier this summer, Lydon became the latest artist to warn us that AI could soon pose a threat to society as we know it. “What or where is the moral code?...

Legendary British punk rock band Sex Pistols’ singer Johnny Lydon, better known as Johnny Rotten has called police over a woman allegedly stalking him. As per ‘The Daily Mail’, the 67-year-old English musician has said that a woman has been dropping letters constantly in the mailbox of his Los Angeles home since last month and he later came face-to-face with her after she trespassed on his property by gaining access to his backyard.
That’s when Johnny claims he started getting phone calls from her – and that’s when he decided to file a stalking report with the sheriff’s department, which is now being investigated.
He is still reeling from the loss of his wife Nora Forster – who died in April aged 80 after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

The Wire actor Lance Reddick‘s lawyer has disputed the findings of his death certificate.
Reddick, whose credits also included the TV shows Fringe and Bosch, as well as the John Wick film franchise, died suddenly on 19 March. He was 60.
According to Reddick’s death certificate, which was obtained by TMZ, he died of ischemic heart disease and atherosclerotic coronary artery disease.
However, Reddick’s lawyer, speaking on behalf of his family, said the conclusions drawn by the autopsy do not make sense as Reddick was “the most physically fit person I’ve ever known”.
James Hornstein said Reddick worked out daily at home and had a strict diet, adding that when he was away for work, he requested “the availability of gym facilities” as part of his “contractual requirement”.
Hornstein added: “The information appearing on the death certificate is wholly inconsistent with his lifestyle.

The One Show host Alex Jones has claimed her ex Steve Jones once lied to stop her from interviewing Angelina Jolie.
Alex, who dated fellow TV presenter Steve from 1999 to 2002, recorded an appearance on Dish podcast with Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett, in which she revealed the lengths her former partner went to prevent her from getting the interview gig – a betrayal that led to their break-up.
At the time, Alex was working as an entertanment correspondent for the Channel 4 series Rise.
The Welsh presenter said the opportunity to interview the Mr and Mrs Smith actor arose, but Steve told her bosses that she was sick when she was actually just out at the shops.
“Normally, they would call in the morning and ask to come and do an interview or a junket,” MailOnline reports Alex as explaining on a forthcoming episode of the podcast.

A number of actors, comedians and TV personalities have joined the voices condemning the Labour party’s controversial new campaign advert.
The ad bears a picture of prime minister Rishi Sunak, alongside the words: “Do you think adults convicted of sexually assaulting children should go to prison? Rishi Sunak doesn’t.”
To justify the claim, the advert cites the fact that “under the Tories”, 4,500 adults convicted of sexually assaulting children under the age of 16 had served no prison time.
The statistic is based on data going back to 2010, when Sunak was yet to even become an MP and Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer was serving as Director of Public Prosecutions.
The advert was shared by Labour’s main account and retweeted by a number of several Labour figures, including Starmer’s Director of Strategy. It was met with outrage from many across the political spectrum.
Actor and director Samuel West wrote: “Please withdraw this.

John Leguizamo has bluntly explained why he will not be watching The Super Mario Bros Movie.
In November, the Latin actor criticised the casting of Chris Pratt and Charlie Day in the animated film, which is out on Friday (7 April).
Leguizamo, who played Luigi in a 1993 live-action film based on the video game, described the casting as “backwards”.
Now, he has said there is no way he’ll be watching the new version, stating “hell no” when asked.
“I will not [be watching],” he told TMZ, adding: “They could’ve included a Latin character.”
Leguizamo continued: “They stopped the ground-breaking. They messed up the inclusion; they dis-included. Just cast some Latin folk.
“We’re 20 per cent of the population. The largest people of colour group and we are underrepresented.”
Speaking about his former role in November, Leguizamo highlighted the lengths the 1993 film’s directors, Annabel Jankel and Rocky Morton, went to in...

John Lydon has announced the passing of his wife, Nora Forster.
Forster, Lydon’s wife of 44 years, had been living with Alzheimer’s since 2018. In recent years, Lydon largely retired from music in order to care for his wife.
A German publishing heiress, Forster hailed from Munich. In her early 20s, she worked as a local music promoter for artists like Jimi Hendrix and Yes. She also had a daughter named Ariane with German singer Frank Forster. Ariane, better known as Ari Up, went on to front the punk band The Slits. Following Up’s passing from breast cancer in 2010, Forster and Lydon became the guardians of her three children.
In the mid-1960s, Forster relocated to London and became something of a financial backer for UK punk bands like The Clash and Lydon’s Sex Pistols. She and Lydon later married in 1979.
Earlier this year, Lydon and his band Public Image Ltd.

Nora Forster, singer John Lydon’s wife of 44 years who has been living with Alzheimer’s since 2018, has died.
Her death was announced by Lydon’s band Public Image Ltd. Lydon had recently performed a new song, “Hawaii,” in the Eurovision 2023 contest that was inspired by her.
“It is with a heavy heart that we share the sad news that Nora Forster – John Lydon’s wife of nearly 5 decades – has passed away,” the band posted on its official Twitter page. “Nora had been living with Alzheimer’s for several years. In which time John had become her full time carer.”
Lydon, the former Sex Pistols singer, had become an outspoken advocate for Alzheimer’s awareness after he put his career on hold several years ago – including the cancellation of plans for an Public Image album in 2020 – to serve as Forster’s full-time caretaker.

A Sex Pistol competing at Eurovision might make for one of the most bizarre crossovers in music history. Does he have a shot? Absolutely.
John Lydon’s bid with his band Public Image Ltd (PiL) to represent Ireland in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest raised eyebrows when it was first announced. It probably didn’t help that the former punk antagonist (who has an Irish passport thanks to his parents) himself dubbed the event “absolutely awful”. Yet it’s hard to accuse him of lacking sincerity.
Inspired by a trip to the US state with Lydon’s wife, former actor and music promoter Nora Forster, “Hawaii” is a swooning, poignant ballad awash with memories of happier times. Lydon has been vocal about Forster’s health struggles – she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2018, and he is her full-time carer. In a recent interview, Lydon spoke of how her condition...

When John Lydon begins a warm and humorous conversation by saying, “Hello, I am very much alive for anyone who is interested — don’t worry though, I’ve been working hard at not being,” you know he’s taking the piss. For all of his notorious snark and cynicism, the thing that comes through loudest in his post-Rotten, post-Sex Pistols career with Public Image Ltd. (a.k.a. PiL) is how joyful and hard-working he is, and how ebulliently he speaks of those who’ve stuck with him — including his wife, Nora Forster, and this longest-ever line-up of PiL, with whom he’s collaborated for ten years.
That unity hasn’t always been there, which is the point of the recently released and currently screening Lydon/PiL documentary, “The Public Image is Rotten.” Then again, it’s been that mash-up of musicians, old pals and frenemies that have made up what is 40 years of PiL,...
