Daughter of Fabián "Favy" Furman Jaitzer (1900-?) of Mogilev, Belarus, and Sulamita Epstein Lamdansky (1904-1985) of Visoki-Dvor, Lithuania.
An acclaimed stage actress, she also translated plays from English to Spanish, directed theatrical productions, and taught acting at UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico).
The part she played in Le rapace (1968) was first offered to María Félix, but producer wasn't willing to pay the high salary Félix demanded. The part was given to Furman; it was her first and only starring role in a movie.
A polyglot, she speaks Spanish, English, and French in Le rapace (1968).
