- Sarah's paternal grandfather was of French-Canadian descent; the family surname was originally "Gaudon", and is of French origin. Sarah's paternal grandmother was born on Alderney, an island which is part of the Bailiwick of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands, and had English and Irish ancestry. Sarah's mother's family is Italian, with roots in Abruzzo.
