A concept for a talk show with horror guests that just makes so much sense! Fresh off of the release of Late Night with the Devil, I'm very excited that David Dastmalchian is continuing his hosting duties in Grave Conversations, a weekly talk show released every Wednesday on Instagram, where the interview is conducted from within their own caskets:
“Grave Conversations” promises viewers an unforgettable journey into the depths of human existence, while Dastmalchian guides his guests through discussions that delve into personal reflections on mortality, legacy, and the afterlife, all while lying down in Titan caskets. Episode one will feature actress Kate Siegel (“The Fall of the House of Usher”) with episode two bringing prolific filmmaker and showrunner Mike Flanagan, and lastly actor Matthew Lillard (“Five Nights at Freddy’s”) joins Dastmalchian for his time, in the casket.

With a light-hearted, feel-good lineup of programming that includes The Spencer Sisters and Sullivan’s Crossing on the schedule for fall, the addition of dating show FBoy Island to the CW’s 2023-2024 schedule feels more than just a little incongruous.
But CW programming chief Brad Schwartz told reporters Thursday that it would have been silly not to pick up HBO Max’s castoff because of its “big loud title” and built-in audience. New episodes of the show plus reruns of the dating show will air on CW Thursdays this fall.
“When they [HBO Max] canceled their entire unscripted slate, there was the biggest show just sitting there,” Schwartz told reporters. “It had two seasons of audience that just love the show. It was opportunistic. It’s such a broadcast show. The show is The Bachelor. The show is Love Island. It’s a little bolder, we know there is an audience there for it.

HBO Max chose not to renew the reality dating series FBoy Island after two seasons. However, the show’s been rescued by The CW and will return for season three this fall.
Series host Nikki Glaser predicted the series’ return in a December 2022 interview with Entertainment Weekly.
“It was a huge success; season 2 more than season 1. And we can’t wait to make another, but we have no word yet,” stated Glaser. “But I’m really confident that there will be more. I’ve never been so sure of anything in my life when it comes to a show being picked up again. The CW's reality TV ambitions are coming into focus.
Deadline reported Thursday that the canceled HBO Max reality series FBoy Island has landed at the Nexstar-owned fifth broadcaster.
On top of that, The CW is also set to launch a spinoff -- FGirl Island.
STX had been shopping the format to U.S. buyers since HBO Max canceled FBoy Island following its second season.
The cancellation was not thought to be related to performance-based, with the axe dropping around the time Warner Bros. Discovery was shelving projects to save money following the widely-publicized merger.
Despite The CW being in line to be home to the show and its spinoff, the deal has yet to be signed, so the network will hold off on a formal announcement until contracts are written.

FBoy Island is getting another shot at love: Following its cancellation by HBO Max, the dating show has landed at The CW for a third season, according to our sister site Deadline. What’s more, The CW is also poised to pick up a spinoff titled FGirl Island, a gender-swapped version of the original.
FBoy Island, a tongue-in-cheek reality series created by The Bachelor producer Elan Gale, sees three women choose from a field of potential mates in a tropical locale, with the men secretly divided between “Fboys” who are superficial and commitment-phobic and “nice guys” who are ready for an adult relationship.

Exclusive: FBoy Island, the breakout HBO Max reality format, is getting another date.
Deadline understands that The CW is lining up a third season of the STX-produced show after beating out a number of other bidders.
Interestingly, the network, which was recently acquired by Nexstar, is also set to pick up a spinoff – FGirl Island.
STX has been shopping the project for the last few months and we hear that The CW has won out, although sources warned that there’s no ink on the deal yet.
It is a major statement of intent from the broadcaster, which last month hired Heather Olander to head up its drive into more alternative series. We hear that Olander has been busy meeting producers as she begins her buying spree, one that comes as unscripted programming could make up around 50% of its schedule with a mix of high-profile, big-budget projects like FBoy Island...

The tongue-in-cheek reality series created by The Bachelor producer Elan Gale saw three women choose from a field of potential mates in a tropical locale, with the men secretly divided between “Fboys” who were superficial and commitment-phobic and “nice guys” who were ready for an adult relationship. (When “Fboys” were eliminated, they were condemned to a sparse, Survivor-like shelter, while eliminated “nice guys” were given luxury accommodations and lavish meals.) Glaser hosted...

HBO Max has canceled “FBoy Island” — the reality dating series ran for two seasons.
Hosted by Nikki Glaser, the series followed three women as they chose a potential boyfriend from a pool of 24 men by trying to identify which contestants were “f-boys,” who were there only to have a good time, and which were “nice guys” genuinely searching for love.
The cancellation doesn’t come as a shock. The status of much of HBO Max’s programming has appeared to be up in the air since the closing of the Warner Bros. Discovery merger in April. This has been especially true of unscripted content, since the Discovery side of the business has come with its own prolific slate of unscripted shows. Those series in production on the Warner Bros. side seem to have created redundancies incompatible with CEO David Zaslav’s intense cost-cutting strategy. Zaslav has repeatedly emphasized a goal...

Between America’s Kidz Got Singing, Homonym! and Sports Shouting, Tina Fey’s NBC comedy 30 Rock had a penchant for on-the-nose reality creations, but the jewel in its crown was Milf Island featuring “25 super-hot moms, 50 eighth-grade boys and no rules.”
This isn’t too far from the plot of Back in the Groove, Hulu’s new dating format hosted by Taye Diggs.

Of all the shows Mike Flanagan and his production company Intrepid Pictures made for Netflix – The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, The Midnight Club, and the upcoming The Fall of the House of the Usher – the Christopher Pike-inspired The Midnight Club was the only one that was designed to be an ongoing series. The finale left the story wide open to continue… so of course Netflix went ahead and cancelled it. But Flanagan had said that if the show wasn’t renewed, he would go online and spill all of the details on what they had planned for season 2. True to his word, Flanagan took to Tumblr to reveal the Midnight Club season 2 plans soon after Netflix confirmed the show is over.

This week was the debut of season three of Netflix’s “Love Is Blind.” If you’ve seen season one and two, you know the drill: Single men and women are sequestered in adjoining “pods” and get to know one another through a series of revolving “dates.” They don’t actually see their prospective mates, just talk to them in increasingly cozy conversations through an opaque partition. Then they get married — or at least engaged and finally meet each other in the flesh.
If you’ve seen season one or two, you know what happens next.
Usually, nothing.
Of the 24 love connections that have so far been made on the show, only two actually tied the knot and just one of those pairs is still together. That’s a success rate of just about 4.
“The Bachelor” (ABC)
Still, in the world of reality dating shows, that makes “Love Is Blind” a resounding statistical success.

Plot: At a hospice with a mysterious history, the eight members of the Midnight Club meet each night at midnight to tell sinister stories – and to look for signs of the supernatural from the beyond.
Review: It probably goes without saying that at this point, people are going to watch The Midnight Club simply because Mike Flanagan’s name is attached to it. After the acclaim for The Haunting of Hill House, Flanagan’s The Haunting of Bly Manor was met with a slightly less enthusiastic welcome. But, Flanagan’s Midnight Mass was a masterpiece of storytelling. If the pattern holds, The Midnight Club would be a weaker entry into the horror maestro’s oeuvre of shows. Luckily, I am glad to say that the series has broken expectations. The Midnight Club is nothing like any of Flanagan’s previous films or series but impresses nonetheless by combining an original...
