Back in 2013, five years prior to the release of ‘Infinity War,’ Patton Oswalt ad-libbed lines about the MCU. In the TV show ‘Parks and Recreation,’ Oswalt’s character, Garth Blundin, shares his Marvel/Star Wars crossover fan fiction to deter Leslie Knope from altering Pawnee’s laws.
Despite being entirely improvised in April 2013, Oswalt’s character accurately foreshadowed Thanos gathering the Infinity Stones to confront the Avengers in the MCU.
Recently, Oswalt made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! where he discussed his foresight in predicting certain events.
Some things weirdly came true; some on purpose, some by accident.(…) They had not done ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ . When I say Time Gem, they cut to Chris Pratt. This was way before he did ‘Guardians’ .Also, Amy has the funniest line in the whole thing when she says ‘the female part’s a little underwritten’, which was so exactly what those movies were.

5 years before ‘Infinity War’ was released, in 2013 to be more exact Patton Oswalt improvised a series of lines regarding the Mc. The character played by Oswalt in ‘Parks and Recreation’ who goes under the name Garth Blundin reveals his Marvel/Star Wars crossover fan fiction in an attempt to stop Leslie Knope from changing Pawnee’s laws.
Although the scene, performed by Patton Oswalt in April 2013, was entirely improvised, Oswalt’s character correctly predicted that the MCU would feature Thanos gathering the Infinity Stones to battle the Avengers.
Now Oswalt appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! several days ago and commented on the fact that he predicted some of the things:

The best kind of Supernatural reunion is happening: a wedding! That’s right; two alum of the CW’s sci-fi/fantasy favorite are getting hitched. DJ Qualls, who played the werewolf Garth on the series, announced his engagement to Ty Olsson, who portrayed the vampire Benny. On the newest episode of his Loaded & Probably Loaded podcast, with Kelly Blackheart, Qualls reminisced about when he first got to know Olsson at a convention dedicated to the Supernatural fandom and how their relationship has bloomed into a forever romance. “But on that trip, I met Ty. At the convention, we didn’t know each other at all. We maybe said three words together at the Supernatural convention, and then we went to London for four or five days afterward,” Qualls remembered. “And then I was going to Turkey with a friend, and he is such a pure, awesome guy, he came up...

Thursday’s nights Academy of Country Music Awards program will provide further evidence that we are entering a Post country music period. But not as in “post-country,” let’s be clear… we’re talking about a Post Malone country era. The crossover star is expected to debut a song from his forthcoming country album at the ACM Awards, on a show that features nearly all the current heavyweights of the genre in performance slots.
Among the other stars performing new songs on the show are Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Miranda Lambert, Thomas Rhett and host Reba McEntire; it’s going to be truly New Music Thursday on Prime Video, as the show goes out live from Texas at 8 p.m. Et/5 Pt. (It can also be seen live on Amazon’s Twitch channel — free to Prime subscribers and non-subscribers alike in both places.) Other performers include Noah Kahan, Avril Lavigne...

Is Reba McEntire running a little behind Bob Hope, as an awards-show-hosting perennial… or actually a little bit ahead? It depends how you count. Because this year marks her 17th year hosting the Academy of Country Music Awards, aka the ACMs, and Hope did the Oscars 19 times, so she’s still two years from matching his record, if we compare these gigs.
However, McEntire has also hosted a rival program, the CMA Awards, five times over the years. So if we include all the times that McEntire has hosted one country awards program or another, she’s actually up to 22, if we’re doing our math right… well ahead of Hope. Something’s clicking, to say the least.
Variety clicked onto a Zoom with McEntire for a few minutes in the run-up to Thursday night’s ACM Awards, which for the third year are being broadcast live exclusively on Prime...

In 2006, CBS began the meticulous process of remastering the original "Star Trek" series for release on Blu-ray and on HD DVD (remember those?). The live-action sequences were to be seen in high-definition for the first time, and the new versions were extrapolated from surviving 35mm masters. The show's special effects were to be recreated using modern CGI techniques, as modern HD TV screens would have made the original effects stand out in an awkward way. The release of the "remastered" Treks caused some debate among Trekkies. Was it exciting to see a TV series from 1966 brushed up to look as modern as possible, or should the shoddiness of the original be maintained for reasons of aesthetic purity? Luckily, unlike the "Special Editions" of "Star Wars," both the old versions and the new versions are readily available on Blu-ray.
The debate, however, will eternally remain if it's better to watch "Star Trek...

Following the TV movie "Werewolf By Night", Marvel Studios continue to prep more live-action versions of their comic book 'Monsterverse' characters, separate from traditional superheroes, including the 'Zombie', aka 'Simon William Garth', debuting in the black-and-white, Marvel magazine "Tales of the Zombie" (1973-1975) from writer Steve Gerber and illustrator Pablo Marcos, based on a short story by Stan Lee, first appearing in the 1953 comic book "Menace":
"...'Simon Garth' was a highly successful businessman and well known public figure who was notorious for treating his employees ruthlessly. Garth's gardener, 'Gyps', vowed to get revenge upon his employer for his years of mistreatment and recent firing. Kidnapping Garth, Gyps stabbed him to death with a pair of garden shears in the bayou near New Orleans.

There was a very emotional moment at the very end of this weekend’s Saturday Night Live.
As guest host of the night Jason Momoa signed off from Saturday’s episode (November 18), Weekend Update co-anchor Colin Jost held up a sign that said “We love you Dana and Paula.”
The sweet message was meant for SNL alum Dana Carvey and wife Paula Zwagerman, after the couple’s oldest son, Dex Carvey, died earlier this week from an accidental drug overdose at 32.
Keep reading to find out more…
Dana spent seven seasons on the SNL cast from 1986 to 1993, especially known for his impressions of George H.W. Bush and Ross Perot, as well as original characters like Church Lady, Hans (to Kevin Nealon‘s Franz) and Garth alongside Mike Myers in “Wayne’s World” sketches. He also won five consecutive Emmy nominations while on the show.

Christos Nikou’s latest flick isn’t set in some dystopian world where the world is pushed into chaos and people are killing each other for supplies! Instead, Fingernails takes place in a world where two people cannot simply agree that they’re in love unless a test proves it! Yes, you’ve heard it right: You have to take a test to determine whether you’re in love or just fooling yourself. However, like always, some people don’t trust these results.
Take Garth (Varun Saranga), for example. He doesn’t believe in such tests and is convinced that he doesn’t need a piece of paper or a computer to tell him whether he loves his wife or not. On the flip side, there’s Ryan (Jeremy Allen White), who feels the test is accurate. Ryan and his girlfriend Anna (Jessie Buckley) took the test earlier and aced it,...

A Saturday Night Live “Wayne’s World” sketch may have set the boundaries for how comedians handled the president’s children on the show. After apparently making fun of President Bill Clinton’s daughter Chelsea, Mike Myers ultimately apologized for the joke.
Myers penned an apology letter and SNL creator and producer Lorne Michaels also apologized. “We felt, upon reflection, that if it was in any way hurtful, it wasn’t worth it,” Michaels said. “She’s a kid, a kid who didn’t choose to be in public life.”
So what did Myers and sidekick Dana Carvey say about 13-year-old Chelsea Clinton?

The 1992 “Wayne’s World” sketch focused on how Wayne (Myers) and Garth (Carvey) ranked “babe-a-licious” Vice President Al Gore’s daughters. “If they were a president, they’d be Babe-raham Lincoln,” the duo said.

Brooks made the revelation during a panel at Billboard Country Live this week. His “Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk” is named after one of his biggest hits, and the venue is scheduled to open in Nashville’s Lower Broadway area this summer. Many country artists have opened bars in the area bearing their names.

If you’ve heard a shambolic percussion rattle echo across the Great Plains recently, do not be alarmed. Those are merely the desultory remains of Anita Bryant whirlybirding against the lead-lined insides of her rococo vampire coffin at the ushering in of yet another Pride Month. But the annual month-long celebration of queerness isn’t just about cynically rolling one’s eyes at the newly-refreshed-and-rainbow-ized corporate logos sprouting up on social media. As good-guy ally and country-rock troubadour Jason Isbell tweeted last week: “Pride. Victory of the human spirit and the only antidote to the poison of shame.” Or, in other words: slay all day.
