She felt obliged to come out of her self-imposed retirement for the
"Jaws" sequels, but has done little since. She has been married for 60
years to MCA president Sid Sheinberg.
Won a best actress award in a competition at the prestigious Pasadena
Playhouse when she was only 16.
Upon her marriage to Sid Sheinberg, who was the former president of Universal Pictures, she retired from acting in 1979. She only came out of retirement once, to do the film Jaws: The Revenge (1987). Her husband stepped down as president in 1995.
Attended Columbia University as a political science major.
