Mildred Gilman was born on 1 October 1896 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. She was a writer, known for Sob Sister (1931). She was married to Robert Martin Wohlforth. She died in 1994.
One of the best-known and highest-paid reporters in New York in the 20's and 30's who got a start as secretary to columnist Heywood Broun. Subsequently worked for Hearst's New York Evening Journal. During her long career, she interviewed the famous and the infamous with equal aplomb. She authored eight novels and numerous magazine articles.
