Former HBO Pictures and TriStar Pictures president Bob Cooper has inked an overall deal with Fox TV Studios.
Under the one-year pact, Cooper will develop projects for the studio through his production company Landscape Entertainment.
"Bob's accomplishments in the feature and television worlds speak eloquently for themselves, and we're excited to be working with him as he focuses in on the TV series business," said David Madden, Fox TV Studios' executive vp scripted programming.
Cooper and Madden have known each other for a long time, having first met when both were working in features. That made Cooper's choice of a TV home easy, he said.
"I thought he could be very helpful in my transition to television because he did it himself," Cooper said.
He also was drawn to Fox TV Studios because of the company's close ties with Fox Broadcasting Co., where Cooper has a deal.
Under the pact with Fox TV Studios, Landscape already is developing several projects:
"Fast Forward" -- a one-hour dramedy for Fox from writer Neena Beber ("Daria"), with Marla Ginsburg ("Highlander") executive producing.
