A salon owner who posed for a selfie with the late Anne Heche on the day she crashed her car has given a tearful interview about being one of the last people the actor saw.
Heche died from inhalation of smoke and thermal injuries after she crashed her car into a Los Angeles home earlier this month.
Heche had visited Glass Hair in Venice Beach to buy a red wig on the day of her accident on 5 August. The salon owner, Richard Glass, had taken a selfie with the star, uploading it to Instagram with the caption: “So I met @anneheche today and she purchased a #redwig so random...”
In a video shared by TMZ on Friday (19 August), Glass expressed his devastation at not being able to help the actor before she died.
‘ “I feel like I could have done something more. Like the universe sent her here for me...

Anne Heche had narcotics in her system during a car crash last week in Los Angeles, police said Thursday. The resulting fire of the wreck into a house landed her in a coma where she remains.
Heche’s bloodwork did not show any alcohol was present in her system. But more analysis of the bloodwork was required, police said. According to TMZ, which cited LAPD sources, Heche was on cocaine at the time of the crash, and potentially fentanyl.
An L.A. police spokesperson told TheWrap that Heche was under investigation for felony DUI.
Heche was said earlier this week to be in “extreme critical condition.”

A Los Angeles salon owner says he had a pleasant encounter with a “coherent” Anne Heche – she even bought a red wig and some supplies from him – about 20 minutes before slamming her car into a home and landing in a coma, according to the man.
Richard Glass, founder of Glass Hair Design, posed for a photo with Heche that he says is time-stamped for around 10:35 a.m. Friday. Police tell TheWrap that the first call about a car hitting a house in the Mar Vista neighborhood came just a few minutes before 11 a.m. that day.
