Season 10 of "The Goldbergs" will be its last. After 10 years and over 200 episodes, the '80s-set period sitcom has locked in a series finale date of May 3, 2023. Deadline reports that ABC has decided not to renew the show, which is currently the longest-running live-action network comedy on TV.
Created by Adam F. Goldberg based on his own family and his experiences growing up in the 1980s, "The Goldbergs" premiered on ABC on September 24, 2013. Sean Giambrone plays the fictionalized version of Goldberg, with Wendi McLendon-Covey ("Reno 911") starring as the matriach, Beverly. Troy Gentile and Hayley Orrantia have also been with the show since the beginning, and all four actors renewed their contracts last year.
In a statement following the show's cancellation, McLendon-Covey expressed her gratitude to fans, or "Goldnerds," along with the cast and crew, saying:
"It's been an honor to be part of 'The Goldbergs' for the last decade. I'm...

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit is hopping back onscreen. As part of Disney’s 100 Years of Wonder anniversary celebration, the hand-drawn animation team has launched a new short film titled “Oswald the Lucky Rabbit” featuring the beloved vintage character 94 years after the studio’s last “Oswald” cartoon.
Famed animator Eric Goldberg directs the short film, with Emmy Award-winning producer Dorothy McKim (“Meet the Robinsons”) producing. The minute-long short is now available on the Walt Disney Animation Studios’ YouTube channel.
“On the eve of Disney’s 100th anniversary, it was such a joy to create the first new Oswald short from our studio since 1928,” producer McKim said in an official statement. “Our hand-drawn animation team – including our hand-drawn legends Mark Henn, Randy Haycock, and Eric Goldberg, as well our wonderful team of 2D apprentices, had a ball animating in the style of Oswald’s era.”
Director Goldberg added, “Oswald is such a plucky scamp.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Goldbergs Season 10, Episode 5, “Uncle-ing.”] It feels like just yesterday that Erica Goldberg (Hayley Orrantia) was against the idea of giving Geoff Schwartz (Sam Lerner) the time of day on The Goldbergs, but this pair has come a long way and are facing their biggest milestone to date on the ABC comedy in the episode, “Uncle-ing.” While much of the installment focuses on Adam (Sean Giambrone) and Barry’s (Troy Gentile) quest to learn how to be the best uncles possible, the other half of the episode sees Erica eager to escape home for a mini babymoon before her and Geoff’s bundle of joy arrives. Of course, nothing goes as planned as Geoff books them reservations at an adult spa resort with questionable facilities and tricks Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey) to “follow” them in the wrong direction so the couple can have proper alone time. Marc Wilmore, writer of “F Is For Family” and brother of comedian Larry Wilmore, has died from Covid-19 complications at age 57.
“My sweet sweet brother, Marc Edward Wilmore, passed away last night while battling Covid and other conditions that have had him in pain for many years. My brother was the kindest, gentlest, funniest, lion of an angel I’ve ever known. I love you little brother,” Larry Wilmore said in a tweet.
In addition to “F Is For Family,” Wilmore also served as a writer for “In Living Color,” appearing onscreen during the show’s final season doing celebrity impersonations of stars like James Earl Jones, Maya Angelou, Andy Rooney and Bob Hope, the latter two in segments imagining what the “60 Minutes” star and the comedian would be like if they were Black.
He also wrote episodes for “The Simpsons” starting in 2000, including a “Treehouse of Horror” segment...

Longtime Disney animator Ron Clements co-directed Disney’s 1992 “Aladdin” alongside John Musker. He shares his memories of working with Robin Williams on the animated blockbuster.
Improv in voice acting has been a part of Disney films going all the way back to “Snow White.” But Robin Williams’ Genie [in “Aladdin”] was something extraordinary. [Co-writer and co-director] John Musker and I wrote the original script with the specific idea that Robin would voice the genie and that he would be a visual as well as vocal shape-shifter. Robin would be encouraged to improvise to his heart’s content.
On the first day of recording [Genie’s intro] we had script pages written in Robin’s improv style and storyboards illustrating some of the visual metamorphosing we were planning. He started out recording the script as written a few times, then took off in a multitude of directions. The original scene was meant to be about three minutes long.

Brittney Lee has become something of a rock star artist for Walt Disney Animation Studios. Joining the studio 10 years ago on the strength of a design portfolio she put together in her off-time while working as an animator on an online multiplayer game, she’s worked on most of the studio’s features and shorts since 2011’s “Wreck It Ralph.” “Frozen,” however, holds a special place in the Pennsylvania native’s heart. In addition to her work on the 2013 Oscar-winner, she brought a mix of mid-century art influences as well as an interest in paper-cut art, aka quilling, to the first feature, a “Frozen” children’s book she illustrated, and to “Frozen II.” The visual development artist and production designer also jumped into the unknown waters of Vr as production designer on the Ves Award-nominated “Myth: A Frozen Tale.”

Of all the characters in Walt Disney Studios’ canon, is there any more animated than the Genie from “Aladdin”? In 1992, old-school cartooning seemed the only way to keep up with comedian Robin Williams’ rapid-fire sense of humor and free-associative gift for improvisation. Much of the appeal of the original “Aladdin” came thanks to the ingenuity of its animators, led by Eric Goldberg, who used the medium to transform the mile-a-minute wish-meister before our eyes — as in one memorable moment when he cycles through caricatures, from William F. Buckley Jr. to a Marine Corps drill sergeant, kissy-lipped Yiddish bubbe, and back-from-the-dead Peter Lorre. The beloved charater’s elastic quality makes “Aladdin” perhaps Disney’s most daunting live-action adaptation yet, to say nothing of how Hollywood’s growing awareness of representation issues renders the original highly “problematic.”
