Family Feud is staying on the air in syndication. The game show, hosted by Steve Harvey, will remain on television through at least the 2025-26 season. This renewal will take the series to its 50th anniversary year.
Created by Mark Goodson, the Family Feud game show premiered in 1976 with Richard Dawson as host on ABC in primetime and in first-run syndication. The show ended in 1985 and was revived in 1988 with Ray Combs hosting. That version ended in 1995 (Dawson returned for the final year). A new syndicated iteration debuted in 1999 and the hosts have included Louie Anderson, Richard Karn, John O'Hurley, and, since 2010, Harvey.

With a resurgence of game shows on primetime television, “To Tell the Truth” made a fantastic comeback with ABC in 2016. Its latest reimagination, hosted by the beloved “Black-ish” star Anthony Anderson alongside Mama Doris, has captivated audiences.
If you’re looking for an entertaining game show to tune in to with your family or friends, you can enjoy the revival of this classic on ABC on Tuesday nights at 10 p.m. Alternatively, if you prefer streaming online, you can find the latest seasons and episodes on ABC and Hulu. Finally, if you’re interested in watching some of the initial seasons, you can buy them on Amazon Prime Video.
The show features a panel of four celebrities and three contestants. Of the three contestants, one plays the real character while the other two play impostors. Before the game begins, the host reads aloud something unusual about the real character that makes them identifiable.

Bob Newhart has been selected by Gold Derby editors to receive a special Career Achievement Award at our Emmy season kickoff party on June 5 in Hollywood.
Newhart is not only an Emmy Award winner and frequent nominee, but the Emmys once played a lucky, key role in launching his early TV success.
Back in 1960, Newhart was known chiefly as the first artist ever to reach number 1 on the Billboard sales charts with a hit comedy album – “The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart.” He was not yet a TV star, but he was invited to perform a solo skit at the next Emmys telecast. At the last minute, Newhart was suddenly given lots of extra airtime when an “inappropriate” comedy skit planned by Mike Nichols and Elaine May got nixed (it had the nerve to mock an advertiser) and TV producers had to fill the time.

Two more classic game shows are making a return to TV. ABC has ordered revivals of Card Sharks and Press Your Luck. Produced by Fremantle, the shows will go into production this spring. Hosts and premiere dates will be announced soon.
In each game of Press Your Luck, three contestants compete against each other answering questions to earn spins on the Big Board. Contestants then use their spins to win cash and prizes while trying to avoid the Whammy, who could take all of their winnings and leave them with nothing. The winning contestant moves on to the All-New Bonus Round to face the Whammy in a final battle for the chance to win a fortune. John Quinn will serve as showrunner and executive produce, along with Fremantle’s Jennifer Mullin.

Blockbusters, based on the classic NBC gameshow, is heading back to the UK after Comedy Central picked up another local reboot.
The UK arm of the Viacom-owned broadcaster has ordered two seasons of the cult quiz from Fremantle’s Thames.
The show, which was a student classic when it aired on ITV between 1983 and 1993, was originally produced by Mark Goodson-Bill Todman Productions for NBC, which aired it between 1980 and 1982 with a short-lived remake in 1987. It was created by Steve Ryan.
Mock The Week host Dara O’Briain is fronting the latest reboot, which will run for 20 episodes of 30 minutes. Players will attempt to cross a hexagonal board by answering quiz questions correlating to a letter, for a chance to win an “experiential” prize. The series is already in pre-production and will include two celebrity specials. It will debut on Comedy Central UK in 2019.

British broadcaster ITV is bringing back Play Your Cards Right, the classic gameshow that was originally adapted from U.S. format Card Sharks.
The show, which was famously hosted by Bruce Forsyth, who died in August 2017, is being piloted with The Friday Night Project and Chatty Man star Alan Carr hosting the non-tx ep. This comes after Carr’s golden handcuffs deal with rival Channel 4 ended earlier this year.
Play Your Cards Right, which started in 1980 and ran for 248 episodes across a number of iterations, follows two couples as they played a series of games. The host would begin with questions based on surveys of 100 people. The first couple would guess how many of the 100 answered the question a certain way and the other couple would have to guess whether the answer was higher or lower. Then the teams were handed a series of five cards and they had...

Los Angeles – Richard Dawson, who had distinction in two areas of television – in his supporting role on the 1960s sitcom “Hogan’s Heroes” and as a game show host in the 1970s with his trademark of kissing contestants on “Family Feud” – died Saturday from complications due to cancer. He was 79.
Dawson was born Colin Lionel Emm to an American father and English Mother in Gosport, Hampshire, England in 1932. After running away from a poverty-ridden childhood to join the Merchant Marines at the age of 14, Dawson pursued boxing and entertaining once he was discharged. He first went on stage as comedian Dickie Dawson, but revised the name to Richard Dawson once he became established.

Bob Stewart, the prolific creator and producer of some of the biggest game shows in TV history, died Friday of natural causes. He was 91. Working at first for Mark Goodson and then for his own Bob Stewart Productions, Stewart created such popular game shows as The Price Is Right, To Tell The Truth and the various Pyramid games. The New $25,000 Pyramid earned Stewart nine Daytime Emmys for best game show. It was hosted by Dick Clark, who died April 18. Other titles Stewart produced include Password, Three On A Match, You’re Putting Me On and Jackpot. One quality of Stewart-created shows was their mix of celebrities and regular folk. Betty White was a frequent guest on his shows and, according to the Television Academy, often joined Stewart in playing poker. In 2009, he was inducted into the Academy’s Hall of Fame.

When Mark Goodson and Bill Todman created 'Family Feud' in 1976, they could not have known how tailor-made the gameplay is for the viral-video age. Asking seemingly innocent questions can elicit surprising responses. That is exactly what happened recently when host Steve Harvey set up the following category: "Tell me something that gets passed around." He received the funniest answer since the woman replied "penis" back in October.
Harvey began his career in the drug- and booze-fueled days of '80s stand-up comedy. Now he's a family man, a born-again Christian and the host of 'Family Feud." He apparently doesn't get out much anymore either, because when one contestant answered, "A joint," Harvey couldn't believe it. Surely a group of 100 random people at a mall somewhere in middle America would not have given an illegal substance as an answer? Right?

Encino, CA - While Charles Nelson Reilly is beloved for his time on Match Game, there’s more to this actor than Dumb Dora answers. He was the toast of Broadway with roles in Hello Dolly and Bye, Bye, Birdie and won the Tony for How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying. Later in life he directed several plays on the Great White Way. While many actors sum up their lives in thick tomes, Charles created a one-man show. He was a stage performer so this was the best way to distill his experiences for an audience. The Life of Reilly captures his final performance before his passing in 2007.
After playing the festival circuit and a limited theatrical release, Life of Reilly is finally out on DVD, Blu-ray and iTunes. You can take Charles every where. In edition to the feature film, there’s tons of bonus features including...
