Ben Silverman and Chris Grant are reuniting at another startup backed by Barry Diller. Grant is joining Ben Silverman’s new company, Iac-owned Electus, as CEO effective November 1. He will be partnered with Electus COO Drew Buckley, both reporting to Silverman. Grant was one of the original staffers Silverman brought with him when he launched the Diller-financed Reveille in 2002. Grant headed international distribution for the company and, after Silverman’s departure to run NBC, Grant became a managing partner. Following Reveille’s acquisition by Shine Group, he became president of Shine International, the international sales and distribution arm of Elisabeth Murdoch’s company. Grant stepped down from his post in May after Shine, following its acquisition by News Corp., decided to relocate the headquarters of its sales and distribution unit from Los Angeles to London where Shine’s main offices are. Grant chose not to relocate but stayed on for a transitional period.

The last of Ben Silverman's three musketeers who launched Reveille with him is leaving parent company Shine Group. Chris Grant, who has served as president of sales and distribution arm Shine International since Shine's 2008 acquisition of Reveille, will depart later this year, along with his top lieutenant, Evp John Pollak. The move is a result of News Corp-owned Shine Group's decision to relocate the headquarters of its sales and distribution unit to London, where Shine's main offices are, from Los Angeles. Grant, who has chosen not to relocate, will work through a six-month transitional period and help in the search for a London-based successor. Shine Group President Alex Mahon will be taking oversight of Shine International in the interim. Exclusive: The era of the Reveille of Ben Silverman is officially over -- Howard T. Owens will step down as managing director of the Shine-owned company in June when his contract is up. He plans to spend time with his family while consulting for Reveille through the end of the year. A search for Owens' replacement is already under way. Owens was Reveille's first employee when Silverman launched the company in 2002. He was one of a core troika Silverman brought with him from Wma, along with Chris Grant and Mark Koops, who together took over running the company when Silverman left for NBC. Following Shine's 2008 acquisition of Reveille, Grant became head of Shine International, with Owens and Koops becoming co-managing partners of Reveille. Then last September, a month after Emiliano Calemzuk took oversight of Reveille as CEO of Shine Group Americas, Koops exited and Owens became the sole managing director.

Cannes -- Creative financing and feel-good shows were all the rage as the Mipcom TV market began winding down Wednesday, with buyers and sellers alike hopeful that the worst of the economic nightmare was past.
"Obviously there hasn't been a full recovery, but the general mood is optimistic -- there's less discussion about the economy and more discussion about new business models and what broadcasters actually want," said CBS Studios International president Armando Nunez.
Despite numbers down about 8% year-on-year, overall attendance of 12,000 participants was well up on numbers MipTV managed six months ago -- the two markets are usually on par.
Buoyed by the runaway ratings success of "NCIS: Los Angeles" and "The Good Wife," CBS had a strong market, and also renewed its multi-year output deal with Rai Cinema, adding fare from CBS Films to the mix for the first time.
