The famous tattoo artist who inks up NBA stars including LeBron James, Tristan Thompson and Danny Green is suing the company behind the NBA2K17 video game ... claiming they used his art without permission. The man behind the suit is James Hayden -- a famous Cleveland-based tat artist who's been inking up LeBron for years ... and owns the copyrights on several designs he put on the NBA star. Ditto for Tristan, Danny and Kyrie Irving.

Determinedly fighting to stop a viral pandemic from spreading is a challenging prospect for many people, especially those who are struggling to just keep themselves alive.
But Eric Dane's daring character on the new third season of the post-apocalyptic series, The Last Ship, proves that' he's persistently trying to save the little humanity that remains.
The actor also proves that the captain he portrays, Co Cdr Tom Chandler, is now even more comfortable leading the fight against the people who are using the virus for their benefit.
Based on the 1988 novel of the same name by William Brinkley, the TNT drama series isn't afraid to launch the first two episodes of the third season with intense physical and emotional action.

Chicago – One of the more unique independent films that worked the festival circuit in 2012 and ’13 was the drama “Mr. Sophistication.” The main character was Ron Waters, a comedian described as “Richard Pryor’s protegé.” Actor Harry Lennix took on the character, breathing in both the drama of the show business story and the particular style of stand-up.
The film was recently released in downloadable and DVD formats. While on that festival circuit, Harry Lennix and the production crew – writer/director Danny Green and producers Jon E. Edwards and Albena Dodeva – stopped by Chicago, and HollywoodChicago.com spoke to them about the film.

Notionally, one of the most loved of genres, comedy persistently finds that it is somehow ineligible for greatness. Comedies rarely get Oscars. Charlie Chaplin, the great comic, was one of cinema's first international superstars. Keaton, the Marx Brothers and Laurel and Hardy produced sublime gems of film-making, arguably cherished more now than at the time. Billy Wilder's Some Like It Hot is one of the most loved films of all time, with a miraculously light touch and a glorious romantic chemistry between Curtis, Lemmon and Monroe. In Hollywood, the screwball tradition came to be supplanted in public taste by Woody Allen, whose DNA can be traced through the cerebral creations of Charlie Kaufman.

Alec Guinness: Before Obi-Wan Kenobi, there were the eight D’Ascoyne family members (photo: Alec Guiness, Dennis Price in ‘Kind Hearts and Coronets’) (See previous post: “Alec Guinness Movies: Pre-Star Wars Career.”) TCM won’t be showing The Bridge on the River Kwai on Alec Guinness day, though obviously not because the cable network programmers believe that one four-hour David Lean epic per day should be enough. After all, prior to Lawrence of Arabia TCM will be presenting the three-and-a-half-hour-long Doctor Zhivago (1965), a great-looking but never-ending romantic drama in which Guinness — quite poorly — plays a Kgb official. He’s slightly less miscast as a mere Englishman — one much too young for the then 32-year-old actor — in Lean’s Great Expectations (1946), a movie that fully belongs to boy-loving (in a chaste, fatherly manner) fugitive Finlay Currie. And finally, make sure to watch Robert Hamer’s dark comedy Kind Hearts and Coronets...

First some background... Several months ago or so, I did an interview for another site with actor Harry Lennix, who all of you know, and was seen this summer in Warner Bros' huge Superman reboot, Man of Steel. But the interview wasn't about that; it was instead about Harry's upcoming indie projects, like the fascinating Mr. Sophistication, directed by Danny Green, in which he plays a Richard Pryor-like self-destructive comedian attempting a comeback, and his all-black version of Shakespeare's Henry IV, called H4, which has just finished post-production. And both of those are on top of 6 other pictures he's completed that are scheduled to be released next year. ...

Game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals was a thrilling display of basketball from both the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs. As the final seconds of regulation play ticked away, many thought the Spurs had the game, and championship title, in the bag.
The Heat were able to tie the game though, sending it into overtime. That's when Chris Bosh made two great stops, both while Miami was up. The first came while the team led by a point. As Spurs star Tony Parker took a shot, Bosh was able to get his hand in there, sending the ball off it's desired course.

For the first time this finals series the “Big 3″ from South Florida had complete control of the game. All-Star regulars LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh all had their best performances of this years finals as Miami ensured the series would go into a sixth – and possibly seventh – game. After squaring the ledger at 2-2 in San Antonio last night, the Heat go into game five with a renewed confidence and the team cohesion that saw them finish the regular season with a 66-16 record. Fast ball movement and cagey defence are the trademarks of Miami basketball and it was evident from the onset that Wade, James and co. were looking to make amends for the awful performance in Game 3.

Chicago – In its final days, the 48th Annual Chicago International Film Festival is poised to close with a glorious bang. Chicago native Robert Zemeckis (of “Back to the Future” and “Forrest Gump” fame) will return to the festival for the closing night screening of “Flight,” a thriller starring Denzel Washington. It’s Zemeckis’s first live-action feature since 2000’s “Cast Away.” Here are the highlights covering the remaining days of the festival, from October 18th to October 25th, 2012.
Zemeckis isn’t the only exciting guest scheduled to attend the festival in the days ahead. David O. Russell (“Three Kings,” “The Fighter”) will be on hand for the October 23rd screening of his widely celebrated dramedy, “The Silver Linings Playbook,” which has been singled out as a major awards season player, according to festival buzz. The Chicago International Film Festival, which runs from October 11-25, announced their official schedule yesterday; and among the dozens of films which will be presented at this year's festival, are several that will, no doubt, be of interest to readers at S & A. Director Danny Green's feature film Mr. Sophistication starring Harry Lennix, which we profiled over a year ago (Here) will be presented. The film deals with, as we said, "a comedian, Ron Waters, who is a Richard Pryor-type of entertainer who makes commentary about the world rather than one-liners. After a self-imposed exile from Hollywood, Ron is back." Green, Lennix and the producers of...

Chicago – I have to admit to a bit of trepidation every time a studio outside of the widely acknowledged masters tries their hand at catalog releases but the Lionsgate/StudioCanal Blu-ray releases of “Contempt,” “The Ladykillers,” and “Ran” are spectacular. Not only do the films look amazing in HD but they’ve been given copious special features. Don’t miss them.
Blu-Ray Rating: 4.5/5.0
What do Jean-Luc Godard’s “Contempt,” Akira Kurosawa’s “Ran,” and Alexander Mackendrick’s “The Ladykillers” have in common? Basically nothing other than loyal followings and, apparently, the same production company that allows them to be released on Blu-ray on the same day. They’re all films well worth adding to any collection of classic titles, especially in packages this lavish and lovingly produced.
Contempt was released on Blu-ray on February 16th, 2010.

Tatum O'Neal has been cast opposite Harry Lennix in a new indie drama, Mr Sophistication, which will be directed by Danny Green. Lennix - who has been seen on TV recently in Dollhouse, but is likely still best known for his roles in the Matrix sequels - will play Ron Waters, a washed up, drug-addled, Richard Pryor-alike comedian who grabs hold of a chance to revitalize his career. O'Neal will play his wife and business partner, who helps him ditch the drugs so he can return to the stage. Green scribbled the script and will make his directorial debut after spending years as a second assistant director on the likes of Stomp The Yard, American Dreamz, Flight Of The Phoenix and Envy. His credit list may not bode well, but he's starting small…...
