- Christian minister and musician with Last Day Ministries who was killed when the Cessna private plane he was traveling in took a nosedive and crashed shortly after takeoff near Lindale, Texas. It was determined that the plane was overloaded by approximately 200 lbs. Green's 3-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter also died in the crash, along with nine others.
- Recording for Decca Records, Green was briefly a budding musical teen idol in the mid-1960Elvis Presley's manager, Tom Parker, once called Green's house, telling his father that he felt his son was very talented and offering to help with his career if needed. With the publishing of his first song at the age of eleven, Green became the youngest member of ASCAP (American Society of Publishers and Composers).
