Pixar's "Inside Out 2" is coming to theaters this summer, bringing back the delightful emotions at the helm of a girl named Riley as she grows up and figures out life as a teenager. The original "Inside Out" not only delivered the touching and amusing personification of the emotions that drive our everyday decisions, but they also created an innovative world that created physical representations of the inner workings of our mind, such as a literal train of thought and a massive library of past experiences that make up long term memory. So the sequel will be expanding the interior of Riley's mind, not only with new emotions, but with unexplored areas.
Of course, the arrival of Anxiety (Maya Hawke), Envy (Ayo Edebiri), Ennui (Adele Exarchopoulos), and Embarrassment (Paul Walter Hauser) make things much more difficult for the seasoned emotions of Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Anger (Lewis Black...

Perhaps, like Jerry Seinfeld, you too have spent hours wondering: What’s the deal with Pop Tarts?! Is it a breakfast item or just undercover dessert? How do they get all that delicious fruity goo inside the tiny squares? Is there a goo gun? Who came up with the idea of putting “docker holes” on the top to keep the toaster steam out? Was it Bob from Engineering? And why the frosting, people? Was there not enough sugar already in there already? I wanna know!

Maya Hawke was moved to tears during her 'Inside Out 2' audition. The 25-year-old actress lends her voice to Anxiety in the Pixar animated sequel and explained how she was left overcome with emotion because of the "relatable" nature of the story about the emotions of a teenage girl.Maya told Empire magazine: "There's something about this story and these characters that I think really brings fundamental truths about our experience to the surface."It's so relatable, so emotional, so pure, that whether you want to or not, you use what you have and what you've been through."Maya admits that she even resorted to begging for a role in the film – which also features the voices of Amy Poehler, Tony Hale and Ayo Edebiri – as she felt the move underlined how much she would invest into the part. The 'Stranger Things' star said: "It was an extremely desperate thing to do,...

Back in March, Pixar Animation invited /Film to check out 35 minutes of their upcoming animated sequel "Inside Out 2." Along with the screening of the film's promising, clever, and hilarious first act, a series of presentations from the many filmmakers working on the movie took us behind the scenes to learn all about how the next chapter of Riley's life came together.
In "Inside Out 2," the core emotions find themselves overwhelmed when the now 13-year-old Riley enters puberty and begins experiencing some new emotions. Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Anger (Lewis Black), Fear, and Disgust are confronted with some drastic changes in how Riley approaches life when Anxiety (Maya Hawke), Envy (Ayo Edebiri), Ennui (Adèle Exarchopoulos), and Embarrassment (Paul Walter Hauser) show up and start messing with the console inside their girl's min.

Inside Out 2 will introduce Anxiety as one of Riley’s new emotions and rather appropriately, Pixar looked at Uncut Gems as a reference.
Inside Out may very well be one of the finest animated films of the last few decades and Pixar is currently busy getting a sequel, Inside Out 2, ready for release in June.
There’s a lot of pressure on Pixar and director Kelsey Mann to match Pete Docter’s brilliant first film, but the trailer looks pretty good. Adding to the hype, Polygon reports that the Safdie brothers’ Uncut Gems was one of the inspirations for Inside Out 2.
Polygon visited Pixar and not only got a good look at the upcoming sequel, but also chatted to many of the people working on it. Inside Out 2 will follow Riley as she enters her teen years and experiences a whole roster of new emotions.

When Pixar released "Inside Out" back in 2015, the studio introduced us to five core emotions inside the mind of Riley, an 11-year old girl leaving her hometown of Minnesota and moving with her parents to a new home in San Francisco. That came with a lot of complicated feelings, and the emotions of Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Anger (Lewis Black), Fear (Bill Hader), and Disgust (Mindy Kaling) helped Riley worked through all the hurdles, allowing the feelings to learn something about themselves and the girl they've nurtured over the years.
"Inside Out 2" is about to make Riley's life even more complicated by introducing some new emotions. Though Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust are all back, they have to deal with the arrival of Anxiety (Maya Hawke), Envy (Ayo Edebiri), Ennui (Adèle Exarchopoulos), and Embarrassment (Paul Walter Hauser). At the end of March, I had the thrilling opportunity to travel to San Francisco, California, to visit Pixar Animation Studios for a Press Day preview of the upcoming animated sequel, Inside Out 2. Kelsey Mann directs Inside Out 2 for his feature directorial debut after helming episodes of the Megas Xlr TV series, an episode of the Green Screen Show, and the Pixar short Party Central, featuring characters from Pete Docter’s Monsters Inc.
Riley (Kensington Tallman), the central character of 2015’s Inside Out, returns for the sequel. She’s entering her “terrible teens,” and the emotions inside her head – Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Anger (Lewis Black), Fear (Tony Hale), Disgust (Liza Lapira) – are frantically trying to course-correct as new emotions – Anxiety (Maya Hawke), Ennui (Adèle Exarchopoulos), Envy (Ayo Edebiri), and Embarrassment (Paul Walter Hauser) – arrive in Riley’s Mind Space.

In 2015, Pixar's "Inside Out" introduced us to a wonderful ensemble of characters in the form of five core emotions inside the mind of an 11-year old girl named Riley. Joy (Amy Poehler) was the leader of the crew, trying to keep Riley happy all the time. Sadness (Phyllis Smith) was constantly stressing out Joy by making Riley feel down in the dumps. Anger (Lewis Black) came out when Riley just couldn't deal anymore, Fear (Bill Hader) made sure Riley kept herself safe, though sometimes irrationally scared, and Disgust (Mindy Kaling) ensured that she never ate broccoli or dealt with anything cringey that might upset her.
In "Inside Out 2," all the core emotions are comfortable in keeping Riley on the straight and narrow, complete with a new belief system and sense of self (more on that in our full footage reaction from our visit to Pixar Animation), even though...

Pixar brought "Inside Out" to theaters in 2015, and even though the story was squarely focused on an 11-year old girl named Riley and all the emotions she felt when moving across the United States, away from her childhood home, audiences easily identified with all the emotional trials and tribulations that come with growing up. Director Pete Docter and the animation studio effectively made tears come out of our face by imagining the feelings that our own feelings have inside our mind, and the movie easily ranks as one of Pixar's best.
Now, nearly a decade later, director Kelsey Mann is tapping back into Riley's mind as she embarks on the even more complicated hurdle of becoming a teenager, complete with a new range of complex emotions that throw headquarters and the core emotions of Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Liza Lapira), and Fear (Tony Hale) into a tizzy.

Pixar director Kelsey Mann introduced the first 35 minutes of “Inside Out 2” at a recent studio sneak peek event, comparing how happy he looked at his 5th birthday party versus how uncomfortable he was at his 13th celebration. His teen angst was the driving force in making the sequel to Pete Docter’s Oscar-winning original.
“I hated everyone looking at me,” Mann said, “and I think it’s about the new emotions that come up at this age. You’re suddenly self-aware, and you’re extremely self-conscious. You start to look at yourself and see nothing but flaws. I was thinking, ‘Am I really worth all this celebrating?’ That’s what we want to do with this film. And that’s why we think it’s worth telling, and that’s why we think it’s important, especially now. We want teens to look at themselves in the mirror and love what they see,...

‘Succession’ has gone out with one final bang: The HBO drama won two Writers Guild of America Awards on Sunday night — the most of any series — for best drama series and also for best drama episode. Creator Jesse Armstrong was on hand in New York to accept the award, while several of the show’s writers were also in LA to accept the honor.
This reps the final major awards show where “Succession” (which ended its run last May) was still eligible. Besides best drama, the show also won the episodic drama prize, for the episode “Living+,” written by Georgia Pritchett and Will Arbery.

The sequel to the Oscar-winning 2015 film, Inside Out 2 is coming to theaters on June 14, 2024, and we have already seen numerous trailers from the upcoming movie, as well as a rough outline of the plot of the upcoming movie. The upcoming sequel will see Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Lewis Black, Diane Lane, and Kyle MacLachlan reprising their roles from the first movie, with Tony Hale, Liza Lapira, Maya Hawke, Ayo Edebiri, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Paul Walter Hauser, and Kensington Tallman joining the cast. Kelsey Mann is taking over as director from Pete Docter, directing from a script by Meg LeFauve, who was one of the co-writers of the first movie.

Some of the biggest laughs of CinemaCon came from Disney and Pixar’s well-received debut of the first 35 minutes of “Inside Out 2,” the sequel to its beloved Oscar-winning original film about a young girl named Riley and the emotions in her head. The sequel opens June 14.
Amy Poehler, who returns as the emotion Joy, was on hand in Las Vegas Thursday to introduce the “new story that captures the beauty and hilarity of the emotions we experience on a daily basis.”
It begins with Riley – now entering her teens – back playing ice hockey while reintroducing the emotions from the first film: Joy, Sadness (Phyllis Smith) and Anger (Lewis Black) along with Fear and Disgust. Riley has grown to be kind, and with her friends is among the players invited to hockey camp.

In keeping with CinemaCon tradition, Disney this afternoon treated attendees to the first 35 minutes of its latest Pixar movie; this year being Inside Out 2.
The sequel to the 2015 pic brings viewers back into the mind of the now-teenage Riley (Kensington Tallman) as her emotions try to keep up with her new feelings. And while Pixar has gotten the short end of the stick during the pandemic with its movies Soul, Luca and Turning Red being sent to Disney+ and Lightyear shunned by Toy Story purists, Inside Out 2 had the Colosseum in stitches.
It was punctuated by the humor of Amy Poehler and Lewis Black, along with Maya Hawke’s scene-stealing turn as the antagonist Anxiety, who takes over the soul of young teen Riley from the feelings of Joy, Anger, Sadness and Fear. Let’s also not forget about Envy (Ayo Edebiri), who is in cahoots with Anxiety for the spirit of Riley.

New emotions are introduced and old emotions are suppressed in the official trailer for Pixar’s Inside Out 2. The trailer was accompanied by details on the new characters joining the fun inside Riley’s head for the sequel.
Maya Hawke as Anxiety: A bundle of frazzled energy, Anxiety enthusiastically ensures Riley’s prepared for every possible negative outcome. Ayo Edebiri as Envy: Envy may be small, but she sure knows what she wants. She’s perpetually jealous of everything everyone else has, and she’s not afraid to pine over it. Adèle Exarchopoulos as Ennui: Ennui couldn’t care less. Bored and lethargic with a well-practiced eye-roll, Ennui adds the perfect amount of teenage apathy to Riley’s personality when she feels like it. Paul Walter Hauser as Embarrassment: Embarrassment likes to lay low, which isn’t easy for this burly guy with a bright blush-pink complexion.

If you watched the initial teaser for Pixar's return to the mind of tween (now teen) Riley Anderson, Inside Out 2, you'll have met Anxiety (Maya Hawke), the first new emotion to show up as Riley plunges through the turbulent hormonal waters of puberty. With the full trailer, we get to meet her compatriots – Ayo Edebiri's Envy, Ennui, voiced by Adèle Exarchopoulos and the withdrawn embarrassment, featuring the tonsil talents of Paul Walter Hauser. See it:
The new footage continues the feel that director Kelsey Mann and her team have, despite recent stumbles on the sequel front from the Pixar gang, have crafted something worthy of following up one of the most popular of the company's line up. We'll see Riley trying to navigate the world (and hockey camp) with her fresh emotions taking over, literally bottling up the established likes of Joy (Amy Poehler), Anger (Lewis Black...

Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2 has dropped another teaser trailer with three new animated characters voiced by Paul Walter Hauser, Ayo Edebiri and Adèle Exarchopoulos sharing main character Riley’s (Kensington Tallman) now-teenage mind.
Joining Amy Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness and Lewis Black as Anger are Maya Hawke as Anxiety; Edebiri’s new and perpetually jealous animated character Envy; Exarchopoulos’ bored and eye-rolling Ennui emotion; and Hauser voicing his burly, yet red-faced, character of Embarrassment.
The sequel also features new voices for fear and disgust, with Tony Hale replacing Bill Hader and Liza Lapira replacing Mindy Kaling, respectively.
“You got a real sweaty palm there, buddy,” Riley, about to begin high school, tells a cowering Embarrassment after they shake hands. Emotions are high this afternoon as Pixar debuts a full Inside Out 2 trailer, teasing more of the plot while introducing several new elements to Riley’s psyche. The new trailer arrived just as Pixar Studios invited us to visit their studio later this month to explore Pixar’s highly-anticipated sequel to Pete Docter and Ronnie Del Carmen’s 2015 animated original. I’ll be representing JoBlo during the event and could not be more excited! It’s been a dream of mine to visit Pixar Studios for decades. Make sure you visit the site closer to the film’s release as I report what I saw and share more details about the upcoming sequel!

Life is about to become pure chaos thanks to every teen’s dreaded emotion: anxiety. (It’s pretty bad for grownups too.)
Maya Hawke joins Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” as Anxiety, the new voice inside tween Riley’s (Kensington Tallman) head. Join the club. Just as Riley is set to start high school, feelings of Envy (Ayo Edebiri), Embarrassment (Paul Walter Hauser), and Ennui (Adèle Exarchopoulos) join in. Actors Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Lewis Black, Tony Hale, and Liza Lapira play Riley’s preexisting feelings of Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust. It’s getting crowded in there….
Lilimar, Sumayyah Nuriddin-Green, and Grace Lu voice Riley’s friends, while Diane Lane and Kyle MacLachlan return as her parents. Yvette Nicole Brown voices Coach Roberts, who heads up a summer hockey camp. Additional voice actors include Paula Pell, Sarayu Blue, Flea, Ron Funches, Dave Goelz, James Austin Johnson, Bobby Moynihan,...

In retrospect, it only becomes harder and harder to believe that any of us made it out of our awkward teenage years (relatively) unscathed with our dignity (relatively) intact. Every new environment during this tumultuous time comes with a whole assortment of anxiety-inducing social interactions, new fears and pressures we didn't even know existed before, and the ever-present threat of embarrassing ourselves in ways that will randomly keep us up at night decades down the line. Honestly, just reliving all of my own memories while typing this out makes me want to run to the nearest therapist's office. Look at what I put myself through just for the sake of bringing the newest movie news to your devices, people!

Pixar has revealed a new trailer for the upcoming Inside Out sequel, Inside Out 2, which arrives in theaters on June 14th. Watch it below.
When we last left Inside Out protagonist Riley, she was dealing with the mixed emotions of a cross-country move. Now reaching her 13th birthday and thrust into the knotty feelings of middle school, however, the emotional headquarters in Riley’s brain are met with some new visitors: Anxiety (voiced by Maya Hawke), as well as her fellow newcomers Envy (Ayo Edibiri), Embarrassment (Paul Walter Hauser), and Ennui (Adèle Exarchopoulos).
All five of Inside Out’s original personified emotions — Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust, and Fear — return this time around, but the presence of Riley’s newcomers, as well as the onslaught of new emotions that being a teenager demands, threaten to change their roles forever. Amy Poehler (Joy), Phyllis Smith (Sadness), and Lewis Black (Anger) all...

Pixar has revealed their main official trailer for the sequel Inside Out 2, opening in theaters in June this summer. The first look teaser dropped in November last year, introducing us to where this sequel is headed - with more "emotions" crowding in Riley's mind. "Anxiety, voiced by Maya Hawke, might be new to the crew, but she's not really the type to take a back seat. That makes a lot of sense if you think about it in terms of what goes on inside all our minds." The full Inside Out 2 voice cast also includes Amy Poehler returning as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear, Liza Lapira as Disgust. One of the most talked-about ads from Super Bowl Lviii was Verizon‘s commercial featuring Beyoncé. The pop icon used the moment to announce a new album and drop two new songs, and she also sparked a separate debate: Does she actually stream on Twitch?
In the ad, actor Tony Hale challenges Beyoncé to test the speed of Verizon’s 5G internet. She responds by firing up a Twitch account called IAmSlayoncé, where she streams without any lag or buffering.
As it turns out, the IAmSlayoncé account is totally real. It has zero past broadcasts, so Beyoncé may be waiting for her perfect moment to go live.
Sasha Fierce hasn’t confirmed her gamer credentials, but a different Sasha chimed in on the Verizon ad. Actress Sasha Grey defended Beyoncé’s unusual streaming setup. “Haters will say her fingers aren’t even on Wasd,” Grey wrote. “But it’s ok,...

Beyoncé sent her fans a shocker on Super Bowl Sunday, using a Verizon ad to announce “Renaissance Act II” and drop two brand-new country songs. But members of the BeyHive with a penchant for half-hour comedies got a two-for-one deal, as the pop star appeared in the commercial opposite an unexpected partner: “Veep” and “Arrested Development” star Tony Hale.
Hale has spent years of his career playing awkward, offbeat beta males overshadowed by powerful women: “It’s a forte of mine,” he says, reflecting on what his newest collaborator may have in common with Lucille Bluth and Selina Meyer. He felt at home at Yoncé’s side, though, he isn’t totally sure how much she knew about him in return. “We really didn’t have much time to chat,” he laughs. “I didn’t ask her, ‘Have you seen my work?'”

Update: Nielsen has updated their estimate, reporting that Super Bowl Lviii reached 123.7 million viewers, up from the initial count of 123.4 million.
The Feb. 11 Super Bowl game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers brought in an average of 123.4 million viewers — the highest number of people watching the same broadcast in the history of television.
112 million of those viewers were tuned into the CBS broadcast — the largest audience ever for a single network. The rest were measured across Paramount+, Nickelodeon, Univision, CBS Sports and NFL digital properties including NFL+. Per Paramount Global, Paramount+ saw record-breaking viewership that made Sunday the most-streamed Super Bowl ever, but exact data regarding streaming views isn’t available.
Before this, the biggest telecast of all time was last year’s Super Bowl game between the Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. It was initially named the third most-watched, ranking behind the 2015 and 2017 Super Bowls...

This weekend, the biggest sporting event on the Stateside calendar, the Super Bowl, went down between the San Francisco 49ers and the Taylor Swiftie… Sorry (checks notes), Kansas City Chiefs. And with a massive guaranteed TV audience, that naturally meant companies shelling out not just $7 million for 30 seconds of precious airtime, but millions more to secure celebrity faces and guarantee viewers/clicks. As is usual these days, most of the ads went up days before the event itself, or the spots linked to longer versions online. Here is a roundup of our favourites…

Is anyone else hearing things or are those just the voices in my head? For once, this isn't a sign of serious psychological problems, but simply another tease for one of Pixar Studios' most highly-anticipated sequels yet. I can still remember that rainy Saturday during the summer of 2015 while I was babysitting my little cousins and figured I'd surprise them with an impromptu trip to the theaters to see "Inside Out." Unfortunately, it turned out that everybody had the same idea, and all the showings were already sold out ... so we ended up settling for "Minions" instead. But don't worry, this story has a happy ending since we eventually got around to seeing the brilliant emotional rollercoaster and all agreed that it was better than "Minions" inadvertently confirming some discomfiting connections to Adolf Hitler.
In any case, we're finally getting a follow-up to one of Pixar's best original movies...

Oscar-nominated actor June Squibb has joined the voice cast of Pixar’s “Inside Out 2.”
The 94-year-old Squibb last worked with the Disney-owned studio for 2020’s “Soul” and 2019’s “Toy Story 4,” and has lent her voice to other animated projects including “Solar Opposites,” “Ralph Breaks the Internet” and “The Fungies.”
Squibb’s character details are unknown, but she joins an A-list voice cast in the sequel, which hits theaters June 14. Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith and Lewis Black return as Joy, Sadness and Anger, respectively, while Tony Hale and Liza Lapira take over for Bill Hader and Mindy Kaling as Fear and Disgust after reported salary disputes.
The original “Inside Out” (2015) was set inside the mind of a little girl, Riley, whose life is uprooted when her family moves from the Midwest to San Francisco. The animated blockbuster personified emotions as they conflict on how to best navigate Riley through change.
