Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1 (Blu-Ray/DVD Combo)Warner Home Entertainment2010/Rated PG-13/Running Time 146 minsList Price: $35.99 – Available April 15, 2010I never though I'd say this, but I've become almost completely disillusioned with the Harry Potter franchise. It's a sad thing, since I am a fan of the books and the dense, elaborate world that author J.K. Rowling created. It's understandable that adapting each of Rowling's seven novels for the silver screen was a difficult task and producer David Heyman along with screenwriter Steve Kloves should be commended for maintaining their essence despite the sacrifice of many story details. The incredible triumvirate of Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson also deserve praise for bringing the series' three lead characters, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger to life respectively. We literally watched them grow up before our eyes as they began this ten year odyssey as performers with...

***Update 3/16/11: Now you can find out whether this will be broadcast in a theater near you. Read the post below first, if you missed it the first time, and then click Here to find out if there’s a planned venue in your city.***
I knew that Danny Boyle was working on a stage adaptation of Mary Shelley’s classic tale, Frankenstein… but what I didn’t know was that Naomie Harris was co-starring in it. What I also wasn’t aware of is that the play, written by Nick Dear and directed by Danny Boyle, will be broadcast live in HD from the National Theatre to cinemas around the world, starting March 17th.
A coincidence, considering my very recent post about filmed stage plays with Hollywood actors in starring roles.
