Back in the Game, Season 1, Episode 5, “She. Could. Go. All. The. Way!”
Directed by Joe Nussbaum
Written by Eric Goldberg & Peter Tibbals
Airs Wednesdays at 8:30pm Est on ABC
After last week’s mess of an episode, last night’s Back in the Game is quite an improvement. Although it doesn’t do everything right, “She. Could. Go. All. The. Way!” successfully sets the show back on track, utilising all of its characters. This week Terry gets the main storyline as we see her dive back into the dating world. At first it is a little odd to watch her struggle with asking Jack out because she is usually so confident, but Terry soon turns this around and then continues to remain strong throughout the episode. Modern Family Season 4, Episode 21: “Career Day”
Written by Paul Corrigan & Brad Walsh
Directed by Jim Hensz
Airs on Wednesdays at 9pm (Et) on ABC
It pains me to say it, but Modern Family has become one of those hit and miss sitcoms. Up until now the show was consistently good, but like NBC’s Community, Modern Family is currently in its fourth season and for every great episode there seems to be a boring one. After a two week break, the return episode, “Career Day”, is a dud.
“Career Day” gets its title from the beginning part of the episode but what it really focuses on is the lengths adults will go to to impress their children. To be honest though, I haven’t seen a good Career Day driven episode since That 70′s Show‘s “Career Day” (Season 1, Episode 18) or The Simpsons’ “I am Furious (Yellow)” (Season 13, Episode...

HollywoodNews.com:Directors Guild of America President Taylor Hackford today announced the DGA’s nominees for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Television and Commercials for the year 2011.
?The caliber of work being done on television these days is incredible, and our director nominees in each category are an indispensable element to the success of every project — establishing and enhancing the vision and tone, eliciting outstanding performances and furthering the narrative arc through their creative choices,? said Hackford. ?That they are able to create excellence regardless of obstacles like tighter schedules and in an environment in which audiences have more entertainment options to choose from — is a true testament to the importance of directorial skill in television.?
The winners will be announced at the 64th Annual DGA Awards Dinner on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Grand Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland in Los Angeles.
